This movie has such a lovely old magic feel... blood, bones, feathers, and the great woods. Gotta love it. Such a nice break from the little Harry Potter nonsense. If anyone likes this movie, I recommend In the Company of Wolves!!!
great film but there are a lot of fails in it. westphalia had not a gouvernor but a king, the brother of napoleon, jerome bonaparte. and it doesnt look like in germany.
Haha, the first time I watched this, I totally didn't recognize Ledger. I only realized it the second time when I saw his name at the beginning of the movie :0
@haschibaschi23 There's this thing called hype aversion. Basically, it boils down to all of the paeans the poor guy received after he died. (Personally, I still think he's pretty good, press or no press.)

i know I'm a nerd but the brothers Grimm came from Göttingen Germany where it fostered one of the GREATEST mathematicians of ALL time, Carl Friedrich Gauss, who wrote sooo much about Number Theory. my hero.
@CPUAI101 Ledger was a prick who OD'd on crack!!!....I love how people feel sorry for some upperclass white guy movie star who died beacause he cant handle the drugs he was doing but at the same time half the planet is dying because people have no fresh water to drink and no one even says a word about that... @MrAmoholic - This man was a great actor. His death should be remembered, even though its cause may have been (and probably was) drugs. All deaths are tragic in their own way. This isn't like video games. Death isn't an everyday thing that's saying "oh let's just ignore this".
He was a hero to some people that thrive to be actors. Even though he may have not been yours.
@shoyru18 So a "great" actors life is more important than kids dying cause of no fresh water his death is more important than 300plus people dying in new Zealand cause of a earthquake and I bet 1000000% you have no idea what went on in new Zealand...All deaths are tragic in their own way your right but he was a millionaire who did hardcore drugs and deserved what he got I’m my opinion that’s the point your missing its my opinion and I’m allowed to say I didn’t like him...

ok, this is going to sound stupid, but who is Health Ledger? I know he's a good actor and all, but who does he play in this movie? Is he the one who played the joker in the batman movie? Because if he is, then i've heard of him and i've heard that he's a great actor!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Everyone who commented anything about Heath Ledger is basically an unaccurate, unknowlegable movie veiwer. Just because he had died and he gave an amazing performance as the Joker doesn't mean that you have to obsess over any of his work. Come on people, I know for a fact that all of you no nothing about him since he was actually really to him self and shy... AS IN, HE DIDN'T WANT ALL THE FUCK'N ATENTION.
Well, just to get a point across that not everyone that watches his older movies is a brand new Heath fan. I've been watching his movies since I was 12. So don't assume no one knows anything about it. =]
...uum, I'm just watching this because it's one of the first movies I saw in the cinema. Does that make me a fake Heath Ledger fan? <__< I hope not, I didn't like his performance as joker at all. Don't believe the hype and all that.
Didn't the writers do their research? Jack and the Beanstalk isn't even one of Grimm's fairy tales.

ok, this is going to sound stupid, but who is Health Ledger? I know he's a good actor and all, but who does he play in this movie? Is he the one who played the joker in the batman movie? Because if he is, then i've heard of him and i've heard that he's a great actor!
Corkey411 3 years ago
he played Jakob Grimm the one with the glasses.
And yes, he played the joker in The Dark Knight.
(incase it doesnt to to the right place that was to Corkey411)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Everyone who commented anything about Heath Ledger is basically an unaccurate, unknowlegable movie veiwer.

So you are the only one who have ever read about Heath Ledger in a "neutral" way?
And people can't actually like him now, since they didn't know what a good actor he was before after his death?
And yes, he didn't want attention, so he should have stopped acting then, which would probably would have saved his life.
Kinda funny, ain't it?

Well, just to get a point across that not everyone that watches his older movies is a brand new Heath fan. I've been watching his movies since I was 12. So don't assume no one knows anything about it. =]

...uum, I'm just watching this because it's one of the first movies I saw in the cinema. Does that make me a fake Heath Ledger fan? <__< I hope not, I didn't like his performance as joker at all. Don't believe the hype and all that.
