  • close your eyes and remember when we were all pumpkinheads with souls. If you wanna call this emo, it sure is better than what is coming out these days.

  • The song is nice but let me just tell you, I live in central Il and the fall time is nothing special.

  • Exactly 100 likes and 0 dislikes.

  • @Joey91estrada

I print screened it before the inveitable. Anyway I got that save and what a great song. Anything negative after this is irrelevant.

  • I love this. Wish I found these guys sooner than like five/six months ago hah

  • i'm so glad that i found this beautiful piece of music

  • I was enjoying Sunny Day Real Estate, and Mineral, now this comes into my life, thank you Jesus for Christie Front Drive :)

  • absolutely amazing!

  • Christie Front Drive is incredible. Radio is serious competition for my favorite song of the 90s.

  • i want them back

  • "on and on, forever..."

  • close your eyes and remember a time before hot topic and screaming things

  • @saporoth Screaming? You know, prior to Christie Front Drive the emo scene was dominated by bands who screamed. However, these guys knew what they were doing, unlike the shitty scene bands today.

  • @johanthepirate this is so true, i was in mineral, and if it wasn't for these guys, we would have been nothing. love the cfd. gw

  • @TheHellawaitsyou (supposing you are who you say you are) Are you still in touch with the rest of the Mineral dudes? If you guys got back together I think it would go really well.

  • @TheHellawaitsyou You're joking. Were you really in Mineral?

  • @TheHellawaitsyou please get back together. its time to take back what has been stolen from you guys. this music was so gorgeous and now its been turned into a way to wear your hair. please do something about this. come to nebraska. we miss having y'all around.

  • "On and on, together..."

  • This song is just all kinds of beautiful. Definitely my favorite Christie Front Drive song, along with "Dirt"

  • Same here. I thought that pictures of the midwest in fall was fitting

  • Oh absolutely! CFD is a band I always play ridiculous amounts on during the fall.

  • this is probably one the greatest songs ever

does anyone else think it's almost a cousin to the Appleseed Cast's Marigold & Patchwork? i always think of that song when i hear this one.

  • close your eyes and remember what it was like before it became a pretentious mall kid trend...

  • hahaha your comment is composed entirely of win.

  • say an article in AP last year about bands who influenced "punk". most were ok but i saw these guys in there.. finally checked it out. this may be some of the "original emo" but i really don't think this helped shape punk. maybe it helped shape what the majors sell as punk now. this was kind of boring to me. if i want to listen to something like this i'd rather put on a Sebadoh record

  • Real Emo.

  • I'm sorry, but emo wasn't even a word when I saw this band around 1994-5

  • bleueyeddevl: ian mackaye was getting pissed off at people calling him emo back in the 80's

  • "I must say one thing. I must say emocore must be the stupidest f$%ing thing I've ever heard in my entire life..."

Taken from a video of Ian talking at an Embrace show. Its a little longer but yeah ive heard Ian and Guy (Picciotto) detesting the term emo.

  • @bleueyeddevl

not true, thomaybe not to these guys werent called it.

  • @souljaboyisbad and you are HOW old?

  • We use to see these guys play club 156 in Boulder Colorado in like '94-'95. Very powerful live... cheers!

  • Its all coming back... we cool kids (aged 14-15) would sit in the back in the pitch dark and smoke cloves hand over fist. I remember being mesmerised by one of the guitar players who played enitrely with his back to the audience and screamed so violently into the microphone whilst playing that it sent shivers through the whole place.

  • What torrent, album, or otherwise release is this song from? I love it.

  • I used to have an old ep of theirs this was on. Id say your best bet is to go to a site that converts youtube vids to mp3's. I sent you a link to a torrent too.

  • Gotta love Christie Front Drive! Check out Golden City while you're at it. Eric (guitarist/singer from CFD) plays in it and it's in a similar vein. Also The 101. Antarctica had him as well, though quite distinct.

  • it's on the compilation "(don't forget to) breathe" released by crank records. you can get it online or possibly at a record shop? idk i just ordered mine.

  • I love these boys. They played my diy punk shows in texas back in the early 90's and always left us kids blown away.peace.

  • Ourluciddream. Let's start a band. I play guitar and drums....so pick your poison.

  • LOL I play the same. I can play bass too, just not as well as guitar or drums.

  • If your looking for some new Emo check out Algernon Cadwallader, Empire! Empire! (I was a Lonely Estate), Moving Mountains and Street Smart Cyclist.

  • Thanks for the recommendations, I downloaded all of them.

Also, Moving Mountains +1 Can't wait for the next album.

  • what year was this?

    95 or 96 or 97?

ah,to be one,two or three years old!(i've only known this band less than a year, but i like the keep in mind that i was still around just before these bands broke up).Fuck Paramore.I was writing songs better than theirs when i was 9 before they were even formed.

  • sucks, i had to be born after all the greatest music had ended, the music today sucks, the quality and style is all determined by how well it will sell, why won't someone just say fuck this and make music like this again

  • I'm sorry, but you're just not looking hard enough. Truth be told...we're living in another golden age of music. You just can't rely on MTV or the radio to feed it to you anymore. try reading/ sampling stuff that Pitchfork and Stereogum reviews every week and I guarantee that you'll find a wealth of awesome music.

  • what is pitchfork and stereogum?

  • pitchfork is a hipster music review site. they are probably the lamest place to go for music you can go. of course they review good albums, but they also overrate anything that hasnt already been hyped elsewhere. they are pretentious and super ignorant about indie music prior to broken social scene.

  • My fave CFD song. Thank you.

  • This is tied with 'Dirt' for me. =]

  • Ooooh. Good call. Valentine too though, right?

    1. Field

    2. Valentine

    3. Dirt

  • 1.Dirt

    2.Field

    3.Valentine

  • Wrong! Haha!

I was lucky enough to see Antarctica play with....THE GLORIA RECORD! Although the full bands of CFD and Mineral weren't represented it was still super awesome to see at least some of them in ONE night!

  • Thats awesome. I wish I was born in 77' instead of 87' so I couldve grown up with all this good music.

  • '79 for me.

  • thaaaanks )))

  • it's on the compilation (don't forget to) breathe

  • i have it dude

  • i can't find this song anywhere... goddamnit

  • yeah same =/=/
