  • I was taught a different form of horse stance where the feet are only shoulder length apart, was I told wrong, is this form Shoulin Long Fist? I am not sure.

  • He is a good teacher. He is telling you why you are doing the movement. You are not just doing something with no reasoning behind it.

  • Hey, please reply on this to make it clear for me. When i was taught it was pretty different from you. Our horse stance required both legs pointing from similar to yours. Cat stance required the whole entire back foot down having about 90% weight back and 10 front. And we called the bow stance the foward stance. And the cat stance was our fighting stance with our hands in a specific position toward the front. Thats it or maybey im missing something. please reply

  • Hi. Horse stance, as a bench mark, must be low. In practices & demonstrations the quads would be flat but during pratical app it would be relatively higher. Cat stance is also called empty step and bow stance can also be refered to as forward stance. There's a common saying : different master, different style.
