  • words fail me ! fantastic

  • to me he was the best performer in the world

    steve live forever

  • My Bipolar anthem! It's whatcha get from me, All Or Nothing!

  • My Bipolar anthem! It's whatcha get from me, All Or Nothing!

  • I still have my original 45rpm single of this and when I play it there's hardly any sound left on on it. Sounds of my youth...

  • @enterprise1954 Overplay! It is All Or Nothing!!

  • Mega song!

  • Best band ever

  • Marriott-my R&B voice number 1.Rest in Peace Steve.☻☻☻

  • RIP Stevie, You're the Best! Love Mad John too, Here comes the nice, etc.

  • My main complaint is the damn cameraperson: focusing solely on one performer.

  • @Khultan i think that's what camerapersons do, focus on the front person, thanx for the inclusive term :)

  • Wonderful song ! Shivers, tears,, and proud that he walked among us!

  • @theonlyantony Same here!! Great Comment!! Such a sad way to die too...

  • Brilliant band. Must not have had Pete Waterman at the helm.

  • The Punch in Steve's voice still shines out like a beacon today - to all those who wanna test their voices out with rock ...Give him a try..

  • Damn-I've never seen this one before. ♪♪♪♪♪

  • @Khultan There are four songs from this performance. Whatcha Gonna Do About It being my favourite.

  • @Khultan u must luv the small faces, i see ur name on many of their video sites which equals u have great taste in music

    you "hear my children sing"

  • @rainspirit100 Yes, I certainly do. : ) They are fantastic with their approach to music and song, very superbly different from the other bands that were getting alot of the media attention.

  • I've only ever known three white men who could sing with a real soul voice. Steve Marriot, Eric Burdon and Chris Farlowe. There aren't any others, anywhere. It was a 1960's UK working class accomplishment.

  • @DannyGloverIsAwesome You're fucking shit, stupid asshole. You're a miserable little troll who's obviously looking for attention. The Small Faces kick your ass, I'm sure Steve Marriot, an Ronnie Lane wouldn't be very pleased to hear what you said. So shut the fuck up and enjoy the video. Happy holidays asshole.

  • @TheInvincible1997 Steve Marriot and Ronnie Lane would struggle to hear what anyone said!

  • @TheInvincible1997 STOP THE NEGATIVITY FFS!!!!

  • 606 likes... If u take the 6 dislikes into the middle they will go to hell.

  • STEVE MARRIOT AND THE SMALL FACES, ONE OF THE BEST GROUPS EVERY ...WHAT A VOICE ..LOVE U STEVE ..RIP X

  • RAW ROCK AND ROLL AT ITS BEST

  • Great to see and hear this superb live performance.

    Many thanks for sharing.

  • @Cabinessance

I second your thoughts. Marriott was electric. The whole band was so tight.

  • Epicness!!! Steve's voice knocked the rest into a cocked hat, no question.

  • fuckin brilliant!

  • Coolest band from Britain that I can think of.......my kids all 4 of `em ranging from 19 to 28 have been singing along since they were old enough to sing and evry one of them still rate this band as one of the best....on all their ipods in amongst Marilyn Manson and Tynchy Stryder etc ! Music that will live on through generation after generation. Thank you Steve and the boys.

  • Stevie Marriott wasn't much bigger than his guitar but he was SO charismatic. I always loved this band and I always will.

P.S. How cool is his haircut?

  • @miley5566- Steve Marriott? Impossible. He's dead!!!

  • @merseymain Det vet vi var på hans begravning/ from Swedich Fiends

  • @merseymain Jag vet, vi var på hans begravning/ Swedich Friends

  • Before their time...such a blast would be so good for the 'children' of today!!

  • Mega speechless - plus If I were a Carpenter ..... oh MAN !!!!!! xxxxxxx

  • The Small Faces were on there own at the top of the tree !

    Elvis was a twig below.

  • Une des meilleurs rock melodies des années 60

  • Priceless stuff

  • I'd like if the forthcoming stone roses gig had Steve as vocalist - that'd be a band

  • elvis made this song

  • 95% of Steve Marriot's body weight is air bursting out of his lungs ....not since Edith Piaf

  • It all comes from the same place ;)

  • I was a Mod in 1960s England and Stevie Marriot and The Small Faces were our idols. All these years on I think I appreciate their talent even more than I did then.

  • Wow...great re-creation of 'live' sound from those days.

  • Great band

  • why all the bitching about Paul Weller....he gave a this type of music to a generation that would would have missed out otherwise....he's a nice man...no ego....I see no need for the 'he's no Steve Marriott' comments of course he's not....but he 's pretty good :)

  • @mysticmissus Agree. Different people....both good.

  • THE JAM > small faces

  • All this bolocks about Weller being the "Modfather". Noone can ever surpass Marriott. A mod at the top of his game (although he is wearing a dodgy shirt in this clip) and easily the best male vocalist this country has ever produced. God bless the litte bloke. A true genius

  • there are songs that make a good night out this is one of them .

  • @NickR1980 Rather...

  • Love it, love it , love it!!! I was there when it all began = born 1954 & so was 10 - 15 years old in 1964 (Beatles Ed Sullivan - LIVE!!!) to age 15 in 1969......YES greatest & still in my opinion GREATEST music of ALL TIME.....ROCK ON BROS & SISTERS OF ALL AGES AND SIZES!!!!!!! Oh, & I am a `sister`and saw LIVE in smallish venues in 1970 - 1974 PINK FLOYDE' LED ZEPPELIN',THE EAGLES........ROCK ON FROM VANCOUVER `FOOKING`CANADA!!

  • @Elaine11160 Nice one Elaine!! I was born in 1952 and feel honoured and privelleged to have had my "formative years" in the 1960's. Kids today have NO IDEA what it was about- they think quality is winning "X Factor".........................................and I still ride a modded Lambretta

Chris from Bristol (59 inside 15 outside!!!!)

  • I walked down the aisle to this last month ;)

  • @MsNickynoonoo congrats ans wot a tune ya picked ♥

  • @MsNickynoonoo Great choice. Great lyrics, great tune, great singer, great band. Steve will never be forgotten!

  • Leave Weller alone. The man was great too, and probably a more accomplished songwriter than Marriot at the same age. But Marriot was the original and best - his voice can't be topped, nor his cult appeal.

  • This is one of my all time favorites.

  • u hear my children sing

  • OUR LOCAL BAND IN THE 60,S BRILLIANT !!!

  • Jobby Binner your a Pr**k.......He was'nt copying him!!! he was paying the man a tribute...Dumb F**k that you are.... everyone keep the Faith!!!

  • Really stupid critism of Weller etc. Christ if you don't think artists can be influenced by the stuff before them, come up with something totally original yourself.

  • @KITCHENOFDISTINCTION here here

  • mods still rule !!

  • We do not get any younger do we? This just like being there. ok.

  • the voice on the guy !!

    RIP

  • rip little STEVIE a wonder to behold one of a kind

  • I know amphetamine-driven performances when I see them. Lovely work.

  • the original rebels, respect from a 1980s child.

  • FFS stop bitching over weller and marriot theye are both great artists

  • I love The Small Faces, god bless them, R.I.P. Steve Marriot, and Ronnie Lane.

  • Pure brilliance.

  • please don't cover.

    you're awful.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBeethoven1966 ?? What the hell?

  • @TheInvincible1997 To cover a a Marriot song you must have: talent, political nouse, humour, an ability to take honest criticism; a talent and pride in the efficient use of language in order to convey ideas . Unfortunately you seem to lack all of these. As exhitbited by your poor comunications. Sorry.

With all the evidence I've seen very few artists should be allowed, on pain of death, to cover Marriot's material.

  • @MrBeethoven1966 Poor communications? no just no I only said that because you sounded like you were talking to yourself which you probably were. You're the only one who seems to lack everything that you put down for me, including a life. With all the evidence? are you kidding me? do you think you're a friggin detective? every artist should be able to sing Marriot's material. IT"S CALLED A COVER, if you don't like then too bad it's life, and its not a law that they can't. Deal with it, asshole.

  • Ahead of his time was Steve Marriot. Great drumming also on this track. Great tune & fine musicians.

  • god bless you steve marriot

  • I love it, but the bass is a wee bit outta tune. Nice to see live musicians though, nice to see people actually freakin' PLAYING instruments!

  • Look to the right times above, N-FORCE, what this garbage has to look for on this page?!

  • Thank you for the upload - this is the first genuinely LIVE footage I have seen of one of the band's performances on youtube

  • weller or not, marriot was a phenomenon for which we should be thankful. I haven't heard a voic as melodic, meaningful and soulful. Weller is a fantastic talent & never shied away from the fact that the Small Faces influenced him. I think this is a partial admissonhe could never match Marriot's presence and passion. these guys cover 4~5 generations. Is their legacy all washed up?t. Just be proud these guys have graced our ears with their collective greatness. We can relive their finest moments.

  • @markg5452 YES!!!

  • I know I'm gonna collect the thumb-down World Record, but have to say it: if I that night would have been in Marriott shoes I would have smashed the bass drum on drummer's head... he was costantly trying to speed up a tune setted slow on purpose, just to suddenly stop to rejoin the rest of the band, quite annoying just to listen to.

Steve was an absolute GREAT, if things on this Earth would get properly he should be considered even greater than a giant like Plant.

    Apologize for my English

  • @mellilore yea his timing sucks

  • @mellilore yea his timing sucks,,hate drummers that play for themselves and not the song

  • @mellilore I think it was a case of the BASS slipping BEHIND - this is one of the great rock drummers

  • One of the best songs ever and THE very best voice that ever graced the air waves...

  • @rainspirit100 absoiutely

  • @rainspirit100 OLÉ !!!

  • the REFERENCE....the total reference in Rock Music .....Steve R.I.P

  • bobby where have you been living mars steve marriot was wellers hero as akid hedidnt rip him off he introduced him to ageneration who never would of heardof him weller admited he could nt sing like him very few could he nicked a bit to keep the torch burning for all mods youngs and olduns

  • @72heatherla Too true.

  • Perfection x

  • "you hear my children singin"

  • It's been 20 years... RIP Steve

  • @Beatlemania62

And another brilliant talent lost too soon.

  • class class class

  • Every now and again, amphetamine decisions have been the right decisions, historically-speaking.

  • What a set of pipes Marriott had. R I P Steve.

  • best front man ever!!

  • I am a music fan, and like to think i know good stuff when i hear it, this is fuckin amazin,,,, cmon children

  • They're simply one of the greatest bands ever - period - leave it alone.. that said - and i love humble pie ,..

  • before plant jimmy page tried to get Steve merriot to join led zeppelin and steves manager Don Arden threatened to break his fingers ouch

  • Marriott has a Very unforgettable face for a small face....

  • WOW.....

  • How in the name of all that is holey, could three humans actually not like this song? Come on children now

  • That face that voice!! Steve was truly blessed with one of the very best voices to grace my ears and soul!

  • @rainspirit100 I just read your comment and threw up over my new jeans...I'm sending you the bill!

  • Bloody brill

  • isdebuggerpresent know what sunshine, bugger means penetration of the rectum,in your case you represent the exit of shite from the same horriblefice

  • @cpmcintosh1 Listen up Tosh, I don't want to hear about your fantasies of male anal penetration so I suggest you do one. Nonce.

  • Can't believe Steve was only about 19 here!

  • @amelb8 Kenney is 17 here.

  • RIP Stevie and Plonk

  • Sad 2 say I am a 60s person, I never appreciated bands like Small Faces etc etc, like I should have, only now do I understand what I was missing, but then again I had a life to lead,

  • Wish i was around when these were out, absolutely awesome group :) totally love this song !!!!!

  • @natilee27 In the 60's we wouldn't have been able to view their entire back catalogue of videos on demand, nor pick up "best of" compilation CD's for pennies. Although a lot of modern music is pretty shite in comparison, I still think we are quite lucky to be alive in this age.

  • I met Steve in the 80's. I was part of a duo playing covers at a gig in Haugesund (Norway). One Saturday night I saw I'd be supporting 'Pack of 3' at our venue. To be honest, I didn't know who 'Pack of 3' was. My mate and I went down for the soundcheck. There was 'Pack of 3' with Steve blasting out 'All or Nothing'. Steve joined us onstage to do a couple of Beatle songs..and bought us a crate of beer songs. Only 30 punters turned up! An amazing nite I'll never forget - what a voice!

  • @MarkTurnermt you are a blessed man - not only meeting him but singing with that voice, mmm what an event

  • Saw him not long before he died playing at the Half Moon pub in Putney. What a great musician

  • @Jindypops AND singer

  • bravo......

  • Eat your heart out Weller, Steve Marriot was 15 years before your copy act.

  • @BobbyTinner1 Eat your heart out Steve Marriot, the African slaves were singing the rhythm and blues in the cotton fields a long time before your copy cat act. (NB: This is sarcasm...)

  • @BobbyTinner1 Well said he was the king of the mods RIP stevie you are truly missed

  • @BobbyTinner1 GOD!!!! I have never made the Weller connection before, but now i think about it.....Hell, what a rip off!!! nicely spotted Bobby

  • @BobbyTinner1 Sadly forgotten by this world's "music "scene. Stevie used to have a fab flat in Land's End at the bottom of King's Road. Friends used to stay there. Great post!! I think they played the Marquee a few times?

  • @BobbyTinner1 To be fair though, Weller's always said how Marriott's one of his biggest influence, he even named his son after him

  • DIVINE!

  • i met steve marriot in the mid eighties ,supported his band packet of three in the george roby pub finsbury park, bought me a pint too, very nice geezer and very down to earth

    lovely chap.

  • i wish i could have been there to start the first pogo in history!!!

  • What a fantastic voices, Steve and Ronnie, incredible. Their both gone now, but I'm sure they stir things up wherever they are.

  • to get that close to the stage..HA

  • Eat your heart out Weller!

  • The best song ever ever made

  • uber mod

  • If you had to pick one song to represent what british music is about, this is it. And thats some statement that can put this above anything beatles stones floyd clapton etc as done

  • @telstar9 It's a fantastic song but who needs to compare? It's stands well on its own

  • Rocking Roll Hall Of Fame hang your head in shame, lol who are they anyway, it's empty without these guys.
