  • Why are they all spitting?! LMFAO!

  • thats the church i was baptized in haha lol

  • I have been to a few Orthodox weddings (joys of singing in the choir)- and I've yet to see an organ! Orthodox music is not made for organ anyway! Organ? No- just no!

  • The issue of Presbyters having or not having beards is also an issue of tradition. It comes from somewhat of a superstition really...the belief that men with long beards are blessed with a sense of divine wisdom.Personally I know plenty of priests without beards who are very wise & plenty with beards who are very stupid.. LoL.. so that theory is out the door. Tradition is important... but ultimately its still Tradition. Focus on Jesus, follow his message, take Communion, thats whats Important.

  • The issue of Pews really is more for convenience... especially when your congregation has a large number of elderly persons who cannot stand for several hours but at the same time want to be a part of the worship and life of the parish. Older persons and handicapped persons often times may not have the ability to stand for 5 hours... to not offer accomodations would be in essence turning them away... which would in essence be the exact opposite of Jesus's message.

  • Yes, technically organ usage does defy canon. However, the Orthodox Churches in the USA have loosened up on that quite a bit b.c it is not a violation of the "faith". Organs and Pews do not violate any of the 7 ecumencial councils in any way, its just tradition. Anc considering that many Orthodox Churches recognize the validity of OTHER churches that DO use organ music in worship and have pews (Byzantine Catholics, and certain Anglican provinces) its obvious these are minor liturgical issues

  • Organ, pews, and a priest without a beard? Agh!

  • niente male i 4 testimoni al 2:05!

  • Proud to be an Orthodox Christian, the problem there is the seats and the organ, ;p

  • what church is this?

  • @pjm8047 Orthodox Christian :)

  • @SerbiaTina

    name of church?

  • @pjm8047 i know only thate is orthodox christian church ,.. u have much in Chikago too :)

  • how is the name of the first song ????? please tell me!!!

  • I have been to Orthodox weddings with wedding parties... but I think it's safe to say it's unusual to have an organ playing. What Orthodox church has an organ?? Pews are something that varies by church... mine has none, but the Ukrainian church in our city does have them. There's no kiss at the end of Orthodox weddings, and no walk down the aisle, and no ring bearer... but that doesn't mean that some people don't put it in the service anyway, unfortunately.

  • Does anyone the name of the greek song at the beginning of the video?

  • I think its called Stalia Stalia

  • Ih yiayia ine i kaliteri

    hameni turki pou lei:D:D

  • i loveee the music at the start of this video!

  • hahaha pos tin ftinune hahahaXD

  • I love it. but the Church on the outside looked like a synagogue to me... Did seem Greek enough, in my opinion...

  • Orthodoxy is related to Judaism??? LMAO

  • @Montyleeny14 absolutely not. Orthodoxy just refers to a set of conventions that havent been changed. There are Orthodox Jews but Judaism and Orthodox Christianity have nothing in common. Jews do not believe in the divinity of Jesus, which violates every Christian denomination.

  • What is the chant that the priest sings after Ian and Toula are crowned? It continues on after the priest leads them to do the Dance of Isaiah. I know what it is but unfortunately, I haven't been to any Eastern Christian weddings just yet. My church is Melkite Greek Catholic, and uses exactly the same thing as the Greek Orthodox Church.

  • And we have big golden crowns in stead of this white ones..

  • First of all, Orthodox churches don't have seats... In Serbia, guests allways stand during the ceremony

  • Greek Orthodox churches have seats, especially the big ones.

There are parts of the ceremony where the guests have to stand up to show their respect.

  • No Greek churches have seats!

  • Plenty of Greek Orthodox churches have pews, actually.

  • what is a pew?

  • what is a pew

  • Sorry, forgot to reply! A pew is the bench to sit on in church.

  • oo yeaa so i said all greek churches have seats i never been to one without a seat lol

  • Hehe yeah, I'd thought you were saying something else before. Sorry!

  • was the church real or not

  • lol ... one of my best friends is

     the flower girls lol!

  • OOOOOOOPAAA ELAAA!! :P

  • When we got married big fat greek wedding 1988my church used three cantors... man.. the noise... but what a day!!!!

  • Tha etany kaletera an pandreftikee, te nomezes? e Carrie Brandshaw!

  • Joshy, that's wrong! In fact, an organ is used at most modern Greek Orthodox weddings (and most other Orthodox weddings, at that)... Especially in the United States.

  • Well considering one of the Saints said that secular music shouldn't be played at weddings, I wouldn't think Orthodox churches would play such music other than chant.

  • The use of organ is exclusively limited to Greek Orthodox American churches. It violates the canons of the Church to use organs in servives. Orthodox liturgical services to be chanted a capella in their entirety, only.

  • @orthodox111 its just a movie

  • Why is there an organ in the background? Greek Orthodox never, ever have organs in their churches! The only music they use is chant.

  • Athanati Ellada akoma kai sth Philadephia!!!!!!!!!!

  • can't hear anything..
