Thanks for this series--it cleared up a lot of the questions I had about the BSJ. I do have one question about the "scarf" stitch markers. You mention that you have to move the markers up every now and then. How often do you move them? Thanks!

Yes, I do. I save all the action for the action row and preserve the WS row as always a just-knit-back row. Doing it on the return row would be fine too. Just doesn't matter all that much.

I am working on the directional shawl,, it also has the k2tog at the same spot each time.
the pattern reads RM (. Remove Marker ,circle marker ) k2tog, PM ( Place marker)
wouldnt that work just as well in this pattern ?
