The vast majority of drugs from Afghanistan into Iran are passed beyond Iran, usually into Turkey then Bulgaria for use in Europe. There is some complacency from the Iranian government. Iran cannot stop the drug trade so, like most countries, it chooses to absorb money from it using third party groups not officially connected to the government. As for America, they are more interested in the oil above Afghanistan. China is already pumping millions out of Kazakhstan.
