IF it's the carbon steel mora, just grind or file the spine flat and straight with a sharp 90 degree edge, works great as a striker. I added ranger bands (rubber tubing) to mine to hold a firesteel or even a Bic lighter ;>). I also drilled out the sheat bottom for better drainage AND drilled out a lanyard hole at the rear of the handle.
For your mora, you don't have to carry the striker for the firesteel, you can just clean up the spine of the blade (if its carbon) and use that as you striker. By cleaning up, I mean just square off the corners 90 degrees with a dremel, file, or belt sander. I don't like those strikers because of the 'teeth' they have, they now include them without the teeth because it puts grooves in the rod. Try a tungsten garden sheer sharpener and use that as a striker, TONS of sparks. I hope this helps.
I idnt make that much of a moddification....roppe the sheath in boiling water an made it a tighter fit...and use a nice od piece of elastic band for extra retention
Great job Harrison, I like the idea of using the electrical tape, on my sheath I had duck tape but had to tear it into sections to make it fit. Love the firesteel holder 5/5
To be honest I don't batter mine enough to give you an answer, but carrying a few Moras' would probably work for any experienced outdoorsman. But how many of us here have gone out into the forest for years at a time to try?
@TheRedHawk123 I like most of your mods, I dont however understand your reason to carry a striker on your lanyard. The spine of your Mora will suffice. Also you made mention in a comment response about not knowing about Moras vs. long term wilderness living. I spent my childhood in the woods just about all day everyday. We spent many nights out there as well. Since then I dont get out there as much as I used to, but I literally abuse my blades to make sure they can hold up to yrs of use
Great review dude! I´m gonna get myself a mora number one and will use some great ideas and tips I got from your mods to the sheath man! I´ll send it to you as soons as I get it! Thanks for posting it brother!
Great video why not make the Sheath and neckles in the a Total survival kit in it self u got Paracord for shelter building, u got Firesteel for fire, and you got Wisel for signalling but add one of Countycomm's Waterproof containers and put some water purification taps in then u got Water and you got your basics covered

What's the name of the knife with the wooden hadle?
Can you split wood with that knife?

Mora #2, Yes. It is a universal BC knife. It can handle just about all the basic needs.
