  • yeah i had horrible paid too. i had to bite my clothes to keep from screaming. i would cry. it was just terrible. my baby had good latch, but the problem was she had a very very strong suck reflex. all babies are different.

  • I had the SAME issue with pain... extreme pain! So we went to therapy since he was 3 weeks and ended when he was turning 11 weeks or so. I ended up finding out he had a lip tie. He never got it clipped so i am still in some pain, but they said "he's gaining weight so we will consider him fine" lame. I'm in pain man!! But my nips are pretty much numb now haha sad i know. What we go through to give the best to our babies. You go mama! :]

  • @zelkhanutube It is horrible isn't it? Worse than labor. I am going to have to Google lip tie. How was it diagnosed? Is it easy to see? Do they outgrow lip tie? Here's to us not giving up !!

  • @crackluscious you should Google a picture of it... that's how i found it, and had it confirmed through his pediatrician. He is now 3 months and a week old and still has it, it will probably turn into him having speech problems later but we will cross that bridge at that time. But they usually can diagnose a thing like that in the hospital after they watch you nurse(which was one thing they never watched me do, even after spending 4 days in the hospital). I pray yours is something different! :]

  • @zelkhanutube So I googled it and then had a look in G's mouth and it looks like this might very well be our problem as well!!! From what I've read they don't like to do much with it either and here in Germany they are so into homeopathic "natural" medicine, I doubt they would do anything invasive...I am going to call the lactation consultant tomorrow and have her come take a look. I wondered about her mouth being small. She had a pixie-sized mouth when she as born. Could be a combo of things.

  • @crackluscious Well no doctor will do it until he turns 6 months old and i'm thinking; "by then my nips are gonna fall off! haha" But doing it at 6 months or more he would have to be put under and have a full on surgery and that scares me. I'd much rather him nurse crappy and me be in pain than him be in pain. But i am sure glad i could help you possibly find an answer! I went through the whole "white nip" phase as well with random shooting pains every so often... It's for sure gotten better! :]

  • @zelkhanutube I hope that you can find answers soon! Get some relief girl! :]

  • @zelkhanutube have you looked into finding a different doc who would do it? or a dentist or something? I WISH I was numb. I have had so much trauma to the nipples that I've started experiences super painful vasospasms (when they turn white and hurt like a biatch) in between nursing or whenever I get cold. Shooting pains through the boobs and my back. Good times... thank God for ibuprofin being legal in Germany ahah

  • @crackluscious I was thinking.. "it should NOT hurt this much to nurse" especially since we were almost a month postpartum. I would cringe when he got hungry and my husband would say "the baby needs to eat". I'd want to cry because i imagined the pain already. It could also be that her mouth is small... My son's mouth was TINY and he is just now able to open wide enough for an improved, not perfect, latch. Good luck with everything! :] Any other questions you may have i will be happy to answer!
