The staff are permitted to tie people up for 4 hours? Is that ladyserious? No one should ever be tied up for any length of time. I don't understand why the home has a nice playground and the children aren't allowed to play with the toys. I was horrified at the way they left that poor girl in a locked room tied to a bed, I'm 1000000 % sure she's been tied like that for years. This is no way to treat anyone these children should all be in foster homes, not in that horrible prison.

Sickening. I'm 27 and I've seen these images over & over again, & Turkey is one of the repeat offenders. These children aren't rocking because of their disability. The rocking is a sign of deprivation. Every human being needs positive physical & emotional attention, especially children; hugs, support, love. The "staff" is not trained to deal with disabled children. These are not trained professionals. I bet NOTHING has changed in the 3 years since. A kudos to Sarah & her team for this expose.

My mom is a special ed teacher and she has several children in her class that have been adopted by americans from orphanages for special children in romania. Many can't be helped because they had no human interaction as a child. I know these kids..they're fun, they can be happy, loving, creative children...but most of the time, they shut people out. I've cried in class before seeing 8 year old Nicholas, running and playing in his own world, then in a corner shutting everyone out. :[

Regardless of where this institution is, to see many children tied up and restrained because they have a mental disability or challenging behaviour, is inhumane and against their basic human right.

The carers need a tea-break and respite too!

Nothing will change until carers are educated and qualified in this specialised field of care and the monies are allocated to this area.

A child with severe S.L.D. and autism knows when they are loved and cared for.

@biddowntv i just caught up with this.I am not going to repeat what everyone has written here but I also think the staff is overwelmed and ill prepared to deal with children with special needs.This is an awful loads of work.I am not excusing the widespread bad behaviour but there is more to this.They don't have the children psychatrist the money needed for this is spent on food.
