I think it's a case of a phantom limb, the dog has either trapped a nerve in his leg or has recently had an accident resulting in minimal brain damage, either way it's pretty distressing for the dog, even if the resulting action taking by the little fella is fucking hilarious

I think that the dog lost its leg some years back and had it replaced with a metal leg that moves when cirtain muscles move, so the dog thought it was trying to take the bone. The dog was in the wrong position in the wrong time :)

Definately not funny. We found our dog doing this too, only to his tail not his leg. Funny at first. Now we have had two surgerys as he attacked his tail so badly that it became infected he now has not much of a tail left.

Hopefully your dog won't attack his leg to the point that he may need surgery :(

My cat reflexively hisses all the times, she just smells another cat on your hand and will go into a literal "hissy fit", but she will still be purring. The worst part about being a crazy person is the way other's respond to you, but animals don't care about that shit. Crazy animals, like my cat, seem to be quite content.
