@ginjaninja: they don't. It's at the discretion of the CG, but summer is usually Dress Deltas and winter (correlating to sleeves up/down order) is Service Alphas. "Dress Blues" like the guides are wearing have not been an issued uniform in YEARS, and therefore not all Marines are required to possess them (which is why they are not worn by all recruits at graduation)
@castnd but 99% of us out here at Palms have them, no Marine would be caught alive without having that Uniform, that is why we join, is for that Uniform....and other shit. LOL Semper Fi
the reason why those Marines are in dress blue uniform is because of Commercial Perversion. the only authorized Marines from that unit are the Honor Marines from each graduating platoon.
yes. Only the Honor Marine (one from each Platoon) is authorized to wear Dress Blues at the graduation ceremony. The Drill Instructors are also out of uniform.
In my day we weren't issued blues. We graduated in Tropics. Platoon 156 Honor Platoon. (They don't have that anymore.) 21 May 1968. Five of us were KIA in Vietnam. We were known as the 100% platoon.
they just started issuing blues last year, i have a buddy that graduated late 2007 and he graduated in his service uniform. looking at the date on this these guys were some of the first to graduate in their blues. 356 days before me. jan 9 2009. first new marines of the year, OORAH! and yeah i'm a boot, whatever, deal with it.
My understanding is Blues were issued to recruits back in the 70's. I had a friend in the Corps who became a Drill Instructor, he told me. As for you being a boot, ROFLMFAO and pointing.
you are wrong my friend, this is their dress blue charlies, bravos have the coat on with ribbons and shooting badge, alphas have medals, charlies are long sleeve shirt ribbons and shooting badge. get your facts straight.
19 weeks? Did he get hurt part way through and get dropped back? Anyway good show I went to my brothers graduation november 21st 08. And i to plan on becoming a marine in about a year from now.
Im in JROTC. These graduating Marines, these heroes of the USA. Thank You, to these brave men and those who have gone before them to defend freedom and democracy around the world. I am too hoping to join the Marines and follow in their footsteps. I went to MCRD this last month, and saw a marine graduation. Out-fuckin-standing is all I can say.
