@MisterGasMan Yellow with black, but dark blue with white is for classic cars built before a certain year (I think 1978, but not sure). Looks much better on a classic car than the (also larger) yellow plates.
have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
You wouldn't really buy one of these to thrash around. If I wanted to do that I'd get myself a Subaru Impreza or something, both better performance and reliability. Even if I had a Murcielago I'd still drive this on the weekends. It's aesthetically near perfect imo.
Yes it has the 3.9L V12 from a Miura, but its a less powerful version, the Miura SV has 385bhp where as the Series 3 Espada has 325bhp, the Espada is a 4 seater 2+2 incase you did'nt know.
Wim, you've made me jealous once again. :D As for the unreliability discussion: there's a good reason why you have to drive Italian cars very gently untill their engine and gearbox are at the right temperature: Italy is a warm country, cars made in Italy have small waterchannels in their engines, radiators and gearboxes. And in Italy, that's just fine, because of the heat, but when you drive an Italian car in a much cooler climate, you really have to watch your step.
I saw one on the side of the road by an electrical shop in Pennsylvania about two years ago......It was rusted out and the interior needed work. The guys in the shop said they were doing electrical work on it. I can't believe someone would let this happen to one of the worlds RAREST cars. I would have bought it if I could.
Nice ride, but what's with the License Plate - Dutch, Russian, or British? Looks like it could be any of the three. I am betting Dutch - am I right?

@RebelKnightCSA Dutch indeed :-)

cool car...i love them and want one but everyone says they are so unreliable...is this true??
flyingvkid 3 years ago
If they are restored properly and driven responsibly, I'd say they are very reliable.
It all depends on how well put together they are.
Actually this goes for most post war classics.
If you can find a decent Espada, go for it! It's a great car indeed.
klassiekerrallydotnl 3 years ago
to klassiekerrallydotnl - HI!
I guess that if carefully restored they are more reliable than they were just after rolling out the factory gate......
P.S. - what about responsibly driving..?
I mean, does the engine suffer sport driving ?
Thx. a lot for sharing .

Always drive carefully until the engine oil is warm enough. After that you can hit the 'loud pedal'. You really can drive those cars fast.
The question is: do you really want to? Traffic nowadays isn't too forgiving, and the last thing you want is to damage your classic Lambo.
klassiekerrallydotnl 3 years ago
to klassiekerralldotnl - yes,it would be
insane ! Crashing a classic Lambo would be
unforgivable.

@klassiekerrallydotnl aye. if you take care of it, it will take care of you :)
