I had this surgery last April and while it has not helped me as much as it has helped Richard in the video I am glad I had the surgery since I can at least drive a car to some extent. My speech has suffered since the surgery and this is a risk I took by having the surgery which sometimes makes speech worse but helps other Parkinsons symptions.
This isa followup concerning my April 15th DBS Surgery for Parkinson's Disease I am still disappointed in the results of the surgery because I have not improved as much as I thought I would and the Parkinsons symptons are still very much a part of my life. However, I do not regret my decision to have DBS Surgery because it restored my ability to drivea car. For a few months up until surgery and until a couple of weeks after surgery I was not able to drive
I had DBS surgery with the brain implants on April 15th and surgery for implanting the batterys on April 29th and am very disappointed with the results so far. I was looking for a great improvement after my device was first programed on May 2nd and so far have had only a very sight improvement since before surgery. I heard that it was a big success for many people and am so disappointed that I sm not one of them.
Whaaa...huh? Yo, I got a bro named Nice Nad too. Please DO be careful after the DBS operation. I heard that if you walk past a microwave oven while talking on a cell phone you get a giant zipper busting boner. You are going to have to learn how to sing "There's a Monster in My Pants" just as good as the B-52's did. Yeah, and ask the doc to install the GPS app module so you will always know where you're at and how fast you're getting there.
Ramin (eatkabab) Your video about Richards Parkinson's Disease symptons before surgery very closely displays the level of Parkinsons symptons I am suffering from now. Your portion of the video showing Richards improvement after surgery is encouraging to me.The neurology experts feel that I am suitable for Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery so I have it scheduled for January and look forward to the improvement in the quality of my life such as being able to drive again.
Jesus! My brother 58 years old has Parkinson's and is worse off than you. We just heard about deep brain stimulation at USC and are looking into it for him. I am just amazed, there is hope for him. Thank you so much....Kimmer6
@kimmer6 What a cowinky dinky Kimmer that your brother may have DBS surgery at USC Neurology. That is where I am having mine ! I hope that he is a suitable candidate for the surgery since it is not for all Parkinsonians. Good luck to your brother.
