Lil' tip from one hunter to another, Rathalos's flying is a bitch in that zone and Ive only just done this quest, but if he goes flying again, use your flash bombs on him, it'll keep him grounded and should make your job easier.

the only difficult part of this quest is to manage your potions and supply and also getting Los down quick, rathian is easy. thx to you i found out about that bomb tactic , really helped alot! and thx to MoisesL i figured out a strategi to beat them with siegleind or something its called

Correction! Is while Rathalos want to landing and not wait until rathalos landing, then Rathalos will falling down and will cut some HP AND DIZZY(HELL YEAH).

My friend teach me how to do troublesome pair easily and without demondrug or something. Take 10 potion, 2 or more Mega Potion, 10 whetstone if possible and 5 Flash Bomb(you can bring some steak if you like). First go for Rathian and not Rathalos. Aim Rathian head when she's breath fire. Remember, no Flashy on Rathian. When Rathian is dead, go for Rathalos. All you need to do is don't waste your flashy first. You can hit it watever you want until he fly. Throw Flashy when he is landing.

yeah that large barrel bomb before he lands is a tactic i use. see you didnt even need pitfall traps so seems your really good at this game.

Thank you for the compliment :-). Actually to be totally honest, though both monsters in this particular quest are stronger than the normal version , the weapons i used were top notch, so really it was the weapons that made it easier, but indeed, the bombs help tremendously :-).

i did this quest three times first time with rathian armor and a poison battleaxe and second two times with monblos and rathalos armor with a cromson war pike its pretty easy now but the fist couple of times i died the only thing this quest is good for is rathalos wings because i always die twice and get less money the a rathian hunt

I just thought of something. Unless you have gotten items online via the network mode, the point of getting plates other than collecting them, or trading them for a lao shan's shell, I don't see anything else they can provide for you. Unless I haven't looked hard enough into it.

Yes it is very true that these particular rathian and rathalos yield plates. However, the plates are more or less useless because the weapons and armors that they are used to make also require more online based material, such as dragonite ore, fire stone, and union ore, which to my knowledge, is unavailable offline. So in the end, i guess if you get one...its just really to show off iIsuppose.

I would advise to use full Rathalos armor (or one of the combinations between Diablos and Rathalos or Monoblos and Rathalos) and Undertaker, which is the weapon with the most atk power offline. If you din't know, it's a lance.

The Ancient Blade greatsword can be gotten by obtaining a rustone through mining. When you get a rustone, you take it to the individual who crafts weapons for you, and scroll through the available weapons that can be made and you will come across something that looks like this ???? that is the rustone, and you just tell him to make that weapon and hope that it is a rusted weapon.

Online based weapon made from Lao Shan Lung parts. Unfortunately you would have to be online in order to make it. Its one of those standalone weapon paths that isn't branched from the two main weapon paths.

That armor and wep that you have is about the best offline based armor/wep you can have so i do recommend that. It really does boil down to timing and stuff, and just knowing when it is safe to hit them. You can use the method I did, it may take you little longer perhaps, but it will definitely get the job done.

use eager cleaver and mix monoblos and rathalos armor for large attack up skill. i beat them all the time. you get rathalos wing as a reward. tip: cut the tail off then cut the rathian tail off. then finish off the rathalos then the rathian.

Hello to you as well and thank you for the compliment :-). So we are talking about MHF2?? I'm not sure which Kushala Daora are you are after, but i can tell you that you fight him three different times. The first time is in the Village, its in the 4 star quests. The second time is in the online/offline guild hall, where you fight it in the hr3 quests, you have to beat the red lao shan lung to unlock it, and the last time is in the hr6 quests, where you have clear all hr4 and hr5 quests.

I miss MH1. I managed to complete TP offline using full los (Minus the helm of course) and Siegmund. Was really hard, and extremely exciting when I won... I had like 20 seconds left when I killed the Rathian :O

Thank you :-). To be honest, i wouldnt recommend it, its really really weak. If you wanted to use an sns, i would probably would use the poison battle axe.

Very true it is dragon element, but i dont know if how much elemental damage that weps have, so i just base it off of raw damage, and since it has weak raw damage...it probably wouldnt be wise use it against these two since they are both equal to an online type monster...it would take forever to kill.

And there are less elemental dividers than raw damage dividers....but maybe your right....

Ahh ok, that makes sense. I was merely basing eternal strife on the raw damage, since..to my knowledge capcom have elemental damage as its own visible statistic, so i was hard to tell what kind of elemental damage was being done unless you knew everything about the damage formula itself. So i just suggested one of the best offline possible SnS to kinda be on safe side :-).

Indeed it is available offline, but they are very rare to obtain. The best possiblity to get it is going to area 8 in the volcano stage and mine in those spots and hope for to obtain one. It may take multiple trips but it is possible to get.

Unfortunately they closed down the online portion of the game a year ago so now only the japanese monster hunter for the ps2 and the psp versions of the game are online. Rathalos is definitely hard the first time around. I would reccomend the poison battleaxe since if you hit it enough it will get poisoned while it flies and what not, but if all else fails, use Dragon Agito, and just use the downslash attack on the head when you have an opening.

Very welcome. It is a tragedy that they got rid of the online for this game, but i guess the psp versions are ok for now. The best time to throw them is when you are a pretty good distance and right in front of them, when they face you throw them in front of them, sorta in a way that the flash bombs travel halfway in between you and the monster you want to blind.

No problem, we all were one once, so it wont take you long to be an experienced hunter. Plesioth is a rather difficult monster if you dont know how to avoid its attacks. Safest way to kill it is to use a ranged weapon. A bow with either electric, fire or just a bow with good attack will do. Be sure to bring sonics to bring it out of the water. To make a net, you have to combine spiderweb and ivy together.

No, especially not against these two, primarily because it has horrible sharpness. Hunter's Dagger may take you probably past Kut Ku, but that's about it. Your best bet is to follow the weapon path all the way to Poison Battleaxe, or go towards the Twin Dagger dual sword series after making Assassin's dagger to make cyclone. That's your best bet in this particular weapon series.

Indeed. The 30 feet thing requires two psp's with the same game sitting basically beside each other or within 20 feet. To play online with the psp with others around the world, you must have xlink kai program and a device called wifi max. My apologies if i am speaking of stuff you may already know, i guess i was just clarifying what i was saying.

You have to mine them as if you were trying to get ore. They are located in area 8 i think(or just the highest area location in, sorry dont know the number of the area) in the Volcano stage. They are somewhat rare to get, but when you get them, you take them to the weaponsmith, go to where you can make weapons, and go to the last selections of weapons to make and you should see ??????? show up, that is where you can make the anicent weps. Just gotta hope they come out as a rusted wep.

Indeed you are correct. The different colors represent how rare armors, weapons and items are. For this game, the pink color is the rarest of all items.

thats a very good point. I do have the bds lance, its just i dont have the best HL skills, i could probably do it for about 3 or 4 flinches, but when it sharpness goes down, i havent mastered the 3 hit stagger yet, maybe in the future i might give it a shot.

To my knowledge im not sure if there is an offline based gun that uses that shot. To my knowledge, only the flechette gun, injector cannon and the lao shan lung cannon are the only guns that can use that shot. To be honest, in my opinion, i dont believe that shot is worth the trouble in getting as you can only carry up to 3 shots with you in a quest (one already made, and can only carry 2 dragon seeds with you at one time).

very good question. In my opinion, if you are doing this quest with strictly offline guns, i would use bowguns that can shoot the high level type of shots: clust lv2, pierce lv2, crag shots, poison, stun and sleep lv2, and even normal shots. Some offline guns like arbalest+ and tankmage come to mind. I dont like lightbow guns just cuz they dont have high attk.
