  • thats one tuff marine, congradulations SSgt Anthony L. Viggiani...! despee decore brother..!

  • i was his first platoon 3089 india company he was a wild man

  • that man is a stud. just looking at him makes me want to go take a run.

  • the 26 dislikes need an M72A2LAW enema

  • This Marine motivates me! Oorah! Kill!!

  • Yeah he was my drill instructor from feb to may 2006

  • SSgt Viggiani was one of THE MOST feared "kill hats" in my series and Company during my time at boot camp. The man had "literal" eyes in the back of his head!! It was my honor and privilege to be a recruit during his tour of duty, and although I wasn't in his platoon, he is still one of MY drill instructors. Semper Fidelis GUNNER Viggiani!! ~Sgt Vanderwarker PLT 3008

  • Semper Fi Leatherneck Ssgt Read USMC 1989 -2000

  • i want to say just one thing from one friend to another tony i'm so very proud of all that you've accomplished in your military career. you have made your old neighbors the Crofts very happy and honored to have known you from a child to a grown man. may you keep serving our country proudly as a friend whose always thought of you as third brother we love you man.

    your friend

    Matt

  • ha wow this was my graduation 6 years ago. Viggiani was the man. semper fi!

  • Nice job Marine, Semper Paratus.

  • @mojoro23 It's Semper Fidelis.

  • @jess1up I'm a retired Coast Guardsman and the marines are very respected among us. I said Semper Paratus, which means "Always Ready", the Coast Guard motto. I said this with all respect. The Marines have always land on a foreign shore with a Coast Guard coxswain at the helm. Very respectfully John.

  • errrrrrrrrr

  • GOD BLESS OUR MARINES

  • was going to join the military after 9/11 but I saw videos of the taliband and I got scared. I took a job a Mcdonalds instead. I have worked my way to crew chief<

  • @easyway2001 - proud of you!

  • So proud....

  • Fkn badass!

    --Rob USMC

  • He was my drill instructor during the summer of 2006. Best advice I ever received from this man: "Stay away from the female Marines." And I always have!

  • @patches361 Great Advice, WM's prove that the Corps can make a man out of anyone...:)

  • @patches361 got that right. i did 7 years and never went near them. I have seen them destroy lives and careers.

  • @patches361 Why whats wrong?

  • @patches361 Lol wait why?

  • good to go, His recruits are undoubtedly outstanding Marines after having the honor of being instructed by such a hero

  • this must be the guy that shot osama

  • @dave01123 Totally from 06. Youre right

  • he looks like the terminator too. HERO

  • Dude...this Marine is badass

  • Thank God that America still has soldiers like this

  • @sthvsnth Correction--> Scrap soldiers, reserve with Marines

    --Rob USMC

  • in case anyone was interested, SSgt Viggiani is now CWO2 Viggiani. he'll probably be a Battalion Gunner after TBS

  • Absolutely wonderful, was nervous as he was when younger and being reciepnt of a Marine of the Quarter decades ago in the mid 80's. Stay there and put the click in.

  • 21 terrorists

  • Comment removed

  • SSgt Viggiani was a drill instructor for the platoon that live right above mine when I went to boot camp in 06. Dude is a straight badass....

  • Great video

  • The 20 yahoo's that disliked this need to clean their mouths out with buckshot...

  • Agreed!

  • i wonder how receiving such award like the Navy Cross or Medal of Honor would feel?? Im proud to live here in this country and I honor the Men and Women who serve for our country. It is people like SSgt Anthony L. Viggiani who make this country stand out :)

  • :-)

  • @DkWowN3rd what are you asking about as far as highest rank? Do you mean pay grade or award?

  • what is the highest rank?

    Thanks.

  • @DkWowN3rd Highest rank in USMC is a 4-star-general.

  • @DkWowN3rd Sergeant Major

  • It's is amazing how small the world and the Marine Corps is. I was not one of Gunner's recruits but I was one of his instructors at The Basic School as he was a student Warrant Officer going through the basic course. He is just about to graduate and has been selected as Infantry Weapons Officer, "Marine Gunner."

  • I was one of the recruits graduating in the background in this video..DI SSGT Viggiani is a great drill instructor and a great Marine...I feel honored to have served with him, Semper Fidelis SSGT Viggiani

  • And it's not like Jews are genetically designed to want to steal your shit, grow the fuck up.

  • He didn't kill them with "laser weapons" either. Everything you say is colored with single sided opinions.. Everything you say is a sprinkle covered piece of shit.

  • i aint gon lie i think the marines are so much better then any other branch, america is blessed to have them.

  • Comment removed

  • @eaglemike1515 honestly, no one cares bro. every branch should stride to be like marines. till then marines are and will always be the best. be thankful for having marines fighting for america. no diss on other branches, but they all know this is true.

  • Comment removed

  • @dadecountyplaya305 And i have shown him some of these videos and the comments and he just shakes his head old school marines are humble like my dad he never feels the need to run out into the street yelling THE MARINES ARE THE BEST. dont get me wrong he loves the core but he is just sadden to read this.

  • @eaglemike1515 heres the thing i have respect and you guys should be like the seals no ego. I see marines on many videos talking trash about other American service men and i just do not get it if you are the best then why do you keep on preaching it i have never once heard 1 retired navy seal ever say that were the best and you all know it. Could you explain. my father was a Sgt in the marines in vietnam and he is a humble man who did 3 tours wounded twice

  • These guys are constantly heroic. They are a breed apart. God Bless this man and the many like him. Semper Fi

  • that was one of my DI's

  • i feel bad for the color guard haha windy ass day

  • Someone tell me what this brave man did. I couldn't find it on wiki.

  • @him3zz He commanded his squad to take up defensive and flanking position when ambushed by a numerically superior Taliban force.then he eliminated 2 enemy machine gun posts with grenades and his rifle alone. and commanded the squad to victory

  • @lizard944 Don't tell me you're one of those, "Jews are corrupting this country" type of person..

  • If he were a real Marine, he would have declined the award. Being in a "firefight," with people who only have primative weapons and who are also fighting for their freedom, against Marines who have the most sophisticated laser guided weapons is nothing to brag about. Sort of like hunting at the zoo. When a platoon of 100 American troops fight thousands, we call them "brave heros." When Hamas fights the same insurmountable odds, we call them "terrorists."

  • @lizard944

What do you know about being a real MARINE?

  • @lizard944 What afghan rock did you crawl out from under? A platoon of Marines does not strap bombs to mentally disabled women and send them into a crowded market. A "real" Marine does not get on a bus full of school children and blow it up with a homemade explosive. A "real" Marine does not hijack aircraft and fly them into a building full of innocent people. A "real" Marine fights only those that have already attacked him.

I will fight them in their homes because I don't want them in mine

  • @dingchavez312 ding you will never get though to people like this its sad but they are brainwashed from birth. Its a good thing that there are people like me and you out there

  • Palestinians are also fighting for their freedom. You know, the people who have had their homes flattened, or yanked out of them only to give it to a jew. Then get labeled as a "terrorist" because that's what israelis call you for not liking your new concentration camp accomodations. And ignorant Americans slurp up the jew controlled media with a spoon, yet WE would be doing the same thing as Hamas and the Taliban if another country invaded America and tried to control us. Think about it.

  • @lizard944

You have a good point there bro. I agree completely on that one !

  • 18 douchers need to kill themselves, Semper Fi

  • ühm_ÃNÿóñê_wåñÑà_chÄt_wÌth_më_ì_fEél_sö_lõñElý_tÔDäy╚

  • my cousin was a sergent in the marines who got the navy cross while fighting in fulicia. his name is jerimiah workman. he has some videos on here. just type in the name and watch please. he also came out with a book called "the shadow of the sword"

  • I ALREADY STOOD ON THEM YELLOW MARINE LINE FOOT PRINTS 20 YEARS AGO U RRRAAAHHHH TO MY FELLOW MARINES AND A THANKS TO THE DRILL INSTRUCTORD THAT TRAINED AND DISCIPLINED ME

  • Semper Fi to this brave example of a Marine. His recruits are lucky as hell to be learning from a Marine of this caliber, and we as fellow Marines, are proud to call him a brother.

    Oorah!

  • God bless this hero. He is an example of the finest traditions of the USMC. Americans should always remember these silent heroes serving and training our future Soldiers and Marines.

  • I've never been a Marine, though I count several among my very closest friends. They put up with my having been a soldier rather than a Marine, and even respect that I am now in the Air National Guard rather than active duty. Can't say enough good about the Corps... I know this is long past the time when it really mattered, but congratulations, Marine.

  • Semper Fi !!

  • Because these men have honor, loyalty, valor, and determination I live under a cover of freedom and peace. We owe them a debt we can never pay. I thank God everyday for the United States Marine Corps and I pray for every Marine.

  • I serve with this man daily. A hero to us all

  • @sndd0138 he earned that award

  • thats hardcore

  • Hard Dog through and through!

  • OOORAAHHH, Marine. I am a proud father of a Marine son AND daughter. Its men like you that uphold all that is good in the Corp! America needs men like you.

    Semper FI.

  • @racer1dave Agreed Sir!!

  • First let me say out freaking standing, that Marine is hardcore. I think his actions deserve a Medal of Honor more than any I have seen. Unfortunately the Corps, rarely gives any medal unless your dead. The other branches will give the Medal of Honor long before the Corps does. Glad to see the Corps is still putting out fine Marines!

Former Marine here 1/6 WPNS Co. Dragon Plt. 94-95.

  • 17 afghans disliked this video.

  • That Marine fought like a "teufel hunden".

  • Holy SHIT! I can't believe I came across this! I remember the day in Afghanistan when this went down. 1/6 Hard!

  • Get some! Ooorah!

  • One Bad Ass MF

  • HOORAH!

  • @SuperWeaves the medal of honor. Unfortuneatly most people who recieve it, aren't alive to accept it themselves.

  • Whats the highest award?

  • Well done Marine!

  • Hardcore.

  • Motivating shit right thre

  • Thank you SSgt Viggiani, you are a true American hero. God Bless you Marine!!

  • a TRUE MARINE right there! Semper FI

  • awesome marine...gysgt now.. plt 3057 "my daddy" in boot and couple months in the Astan in garmsir....he IS the AMERICAN BADASS!! I HAVE THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR GUNNY V!!

  • Freakin locked and cocked!

  • Gunny V!...Wpns Compnay 2/2 Astan-Southern Helmand, Garmsir Oct 2009-May 2010 Awesome Guy.

  • as cool as it is i would feel embarassed for makin such a big deal about it, id say give me the medal and leave me alone

  • We need more Marines like him.

  • he was my drill instructor too

  • He earned...he deserves.

  • respect.

  • Gave me chills

  • @BColby17 No no no. I was saying you owned that other guy. But then I saw that he apologized, so, oops!

  • @yellowwing I did notice this, and speculated to myself what it could mean. Would you mind terribly trying to explain it to me? I'd appreciate it, and it would be cool to have here for posterity.

  • @darkflower2 The CG knows that he is holding a Legend, a piece of History. Our Beloved Corps is big on History. And were revere our Legends.

  • @yellowwing Yes, I was thinking along those lines. Thanks for confirming it, for your remarks, and your service.

  • @BColby17 Owned! Patiently and politely so, but OWNED nonetheless.

    God I love Marines.

    ::sigh::

  • @tonyteague01 That's actually a really cool story. Did you know who he was at the time?

  • A General will never be called a solder

An Admaral will never be called a sailor

The General of the airforce will never be called an airmen but,

Any Marine Corp General officer will gladley be deemed a Marine.

Yeah there's a big difference between a Marine and a solder. ooorah!

  • @JTMondal Yeah and there is also an S at the end of Corps...

  • @MrJEspil yes there is

  • fuckin right!

  • SSgt. Viggiani was also interviewed and talked about on the History Channel show "Shootout". I was surprised to hear the name there and when I checked again, I thought to myself, "whoa, this is the same Marine". Search "Shootout Afghanistan's Deadliest Sniper part 3/5" to hear more about his actions in combat.

  • @haschism Errr...Marine I meant. Forgot Marines are pretty particular about that.

  • @crazyyella calling a marine a soldier is like calling an airman a sailor... two different forces

  • @robbins270 same purpose same sacrafice same country, i personally see no difference

  • @IWillKillYourKids well you weren't a marine, it takes a different kind of person to serve in the army as opposed to the USMC.

  • @IWillKillYourKids Same purpose... well, not quite, but explaining that will take more than 500 characters. Same sacrifice, sure, just not on quite the same scale (i.e. "The mission is suicide, you say? I see. In that case, send the Marines."). Same country though, that's definitely right on. 1 out of 3.

  • I guess the fact he has a purple heart, CAR, and a navy cross cancels out the pizza box

  • @12MARINECORPS34 lol thats rough.

  • Cast iron soul and no doubting his dedication.

  • true hero right there

  • who disliked this video?!

  • Awesome

  • That is the kind of soldier you want training young troops.

  • Good for him

  • Yea its great he got this. But then he gets to go home to a bunch of assholes civilians that dont give a shit nor know what happened.

  • Oohrah Marine. Semper Fi. I know this was posted some years ago, but it's nice to know we still have some NCO's with balls in the corps that will do what needs to be done. Thank God for my Marines - I miss my brothers.

  • awesome

  • That's a true warrior right thete

  • Couldnt they get some one who knows the English language to read the citation?...

  • Lol, don't worry call me what you want but I'll feel safe being in JROTC.

  • He was my drill hat. India Co summer 2006. Helluva a Marine

  • Ecuasfinest

Sarge is actually a breed of fish the kind that eat other larger fishes shit. I'm in the Army and "Sarge" will just get you PT. Good luck at the island.

  • heroes like this is what makes the world a great place..... without them, what would we do? honestly? if they didnt do what they do, we would all be in hell.

  • are you an idiot or what? the "hero" thing here refers to "soldier hero" and not the kind of hero you are talking about.

learn to capture what the discussion is all about and what the term "hero" is used for, before you open your mouth.

  • @wonderbizzle yeah and that marine put his life on the line so your dad could do that

  • @wonderbizzle Fuck you you little faggot

  • @bofts Suck it fag.

  • @allannist if the world has no military huh? youre a dumbass lol

  • @allannist how dare you say such an insult to such a man, with out people like him you would not be able to say things like that. We need more like him.

  • awesome, thanks for your service

  • He should have been awarded the Medal of Honor. But since he didn't die, there is no way he's going to be awarded the MOH. Dumb unwritten rule.

  • you dont have to neccessarily die in order to recieve the medal of honor. we had a guest speaker at our command that was awarded the medal of honor. its very uncommon, but possible to be a survivor and recieve it.

  • gilroy8386

The last survivor to receive the MOH was in Vietnam. AFter Vietnam, there have been over 2 dozen winners of the nations 2nd highest award that have lived. It's BS, that one of them hasn't received the MOH.

  • omg this must be master chief b4 the spartan program lol but no really he is a good marine

  • SEMPER FIDELIS SGT>>>

  • Semper Fi, Staff Sargent......

  • Semper Fi, Sarge...

  • @MrWhizzer075 Sarge is a Army term..My recruiter and any marine gets really pissed off they are called sarge. Just letting you know. Semper Fi im going to parris island this july 12

  • @ECUASFINEST732 Before you stand on the yellow footprints, you may want to remind yourself that the word "Marine" is capitalized. Those of us who have already earned the title get really pissed off when we're misrepresented. Just letting you know. Good luck on my Island.

  • Sorry about that, I was used to the auto-cap on my computer. and Thank You Sir

  • @kpbuckley I leave Feb.14 to boot. I will remember that when I stand in the yellow footprints, I promise!

  • @kpbuckley It's Marines like Staff Sergeant Viggiani, and Marines like Sergeant Basilone that we're still standing today. Marines are held up to the highest traditions and standards, and blow them out of the water, so to speak. I'm glad to say, that I will contribute a part of my life, to become a part of the history of one of the most respected establishments in the United States. The United States Marine Corps. Oorah.

  • @Snapdragon145 What's the BFD here? Proud to kill 14 "anti-coalition forces," people who only have primitive weapons to fight with? The true heros are people with the conviction to strap a bomb to their bodies to fight for their homeland; the land that israel stole from them. Bulldoze your house (or leave it standing) then kick you off of your land and give it to a jew. Then label you a "terrorist" if you don't like it. Watch "A Few Good Men" to see what a Marine should be. Not bullies...

  • @lizard944 Listen to the video, he saves his troops from a grenade, and gets SHOT, and still continues to lead his men through the mission set out for them. Dont bitch because a heroic dead that man commited is keeping your lazy ass from going out there. These men protect us, our country and our freedom.

  • @Venom7662 says: "These men protect us, our country and our freedom." So how exactly are we being "protected" by sending our troops to Iraq and Afghanistan? Do you stop retail theft at Walmart by sending police to Kmart? You are just another gullible simpleton who has swallowed the koolaid. "We must fight for our freedom and kill the enemies of our homeland, Israe...oops, I mean America. Go troops go!!

  • @lizard944 Strapping on a bomb to get 42 virgins when you have nothing to live for is not bravery you fool. Go back to cleaning toilets asshole.

  • @proton3227 Neither is fighting basically unarmed opponents.

  • I never thought I would publicly say this, but you're a moron. If you were in the shoes of a Marine you wouldn't pop off at the mouth with stupid ideas.

  • @ECUASFINEST732 You're just about two weeks in by now. Be sure to come back and let us know you made it!

  • no keith i can't, my senior had a big old scaraccross the back of his head that he never gave a good reason for but he was hard, this guy prolly ran them in the dirt! semper!

  • Can you imagine being a boot in his platoon?

    Ooorah!

  • just a curiosity, pease if somebody who is a marine or know military protocol could clarify me. Why at 4:02 the officer just walk and didn't wait for the salute of SSG VIggiani. I saw other ceremonies where the awarded receive his medal, then the officer put himself in still, receive the salute of the awarded and then walk... thks....

  • b/c military members are people too and mistakes happen

  • wow, what a brave man! He must have balls of steel.

  • Hell yeah. That's a big balled Devil Dog.
