i have a question about acoustic electric guitars if i buy a $300 acoustic and a $300 acoustic electric will they both sound the same without a amp please help

no,they wont.

guitars in that price range can be really hit or miss. some are that price because of the wood that is used. but in that price range it is probably a laminate (plywood) and not a solid wood. try to find something with a solid top at least. the i believe seagull makes a cheaper one with a solid top that gets good reviews. check em out on musiciansfriend(dot)com

its at guitarcenter on sale now. its 300 rather than 350 normally. go to their website and get it before the deal goes out.
