  • much simpler way is to go -tool/channel info ---- copy and paste UV

  • Would this work the same if my UV channels used "Fold Mapping" instead of flatten mapping? I have an ultra simple house model I made, simple enough to unwrap the whole thing with unfold. Could I use fold mapping for the lightmap channel too?

  • @ncshuriken If it's simple enough then yes. Just ensure there are no overlapping UV's and that you have ample padding!

  • Thanks man this is great! Incidentally, the first model I made after getting back into 3DS Max was a TV lol, so its right on the mark! Im sick of using pre-set UDK meshes, now I want something more, and I want EVERYTHING in my levels to have dynamic light, not just the props, but the walls, decorations, furniture, plants, EVERYTHING, so lightmapping is my next target!

  • This can get a bit tedious and there are plugins out there to help with it, but essentially you'll just need to attach all your scene objects and unwrap them as one or select them all and apply a UVW unwrap modifier if you don't want to attach them together first. Good luck.

  • Got a problem, when i press reset UVW it totally resets all UV channels even channel 1 if i try to go back. Help please!

  • i need help from u , i have done everthing what tought me , i have problem genrating lightmap in unity3d v3 game engine,i need my lightmap to be genrated in my exiting lightmap channel 2 , for all object in my scene help me plz , need my lightmap texture in a single texture for the whole object ,advance thx

  • OMG!!! This has just made the penny drop for me.. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get my light map out into Unity3d.. this is the best tutorial EVER!!!!!!!! You are Awesome!!!!
