As long as Obama is president, this hymn will never be played by an American military band in any public venue, especially while we are still at war. It is too religious-anathema to the totalitarian-progressive's secular-humanist self-image, and anti-Christian agenda.
@horselips REALLY? Horselips? more like horse sh*t! What is it with you tea bagging, right wing, pseudo Christian, hate mongering extremists. Face it slavery ended and eventually a black man would be President. You can wrap your hate with all the propaganda speak you want but it will always be in your soul like a deadly cancer eating away at you. You should leave judgement of President Obama to someone who is qualified, God! Speaking on his behalf is blasphemous.
@BornGayTaughtToHate Excuse me, but if you actually bothered to READ my post you would see that is only a contemporary political opinion, with nothing to do with slavery, a black man being President, hate, propaganda speak, my soul, Judgment, or speaking for God. I only made the point that totalitarian-progressives like Obama are anti-Christian secular-humanists who would never tolerate the Battle Hymn to played in concert during wartime by US military bands.
Famous quote from Ronald Reagan, that applies today comes from his first inaugural address. "In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem". I wish we had him right now.
I love how people are saying that Obama is an idiot because things haven't gotten better in the U.S. during his presidency. If any of you cared to look at the statistical evidence, we've been in this downward spiral for a good few presidents before Obama. It's not possible for him to clean up a sixteen year mess in four years. Also, people were accusing him of screwing up running the country before he was even elected, so who's dumb now?

you know the so called President Obama wouldnt have this song played in his presents.. its so sad we have someone who is the leader of the free world that doesn't know this song..
Why...a true leader of the free world wouldnt have to know a christian song as HE represents ALL americans of all religions (and those that do not believe). Not just bigots rightwing white folks.....
That is the true mettle of a true statesman. Not a war mongerer that lets the folks that cannot provide for themselves whither while those that can already feed themselves further enriched. May be you should actually read the bible instead of pretending to know the bits that fit u.
Ronald Reagan, an example of how people should make a country great, prospourous, and peacefull. I think this was the Greatest President of the USA, Greetings from the Netherlands
@ROMANWABLE When he passed, Reagan must be shaken hands JFK and Abraham Lincoln to bid him welcome, when he was admitted into the pearly gates of heaven with Lord Jesus at his side.
In these current times with the current regime in Washington D.C. Thank God we had Reagan so we can remember that America is a strong and free nation even when under attack by the political forces that would destroy her from within.
Cont'd. But I knew even then, in my most radical leftist moments in spouting off about "abortion rights" , that this man would leave an impression on me, my country, and on the world forever. I'm so honored and privileged to have lived through his presidency, regardless of what my views were THEN. Happily, my political views have evolved into a true north Libertarian, and I'm a grateful supporter of Reagan's protege, Ron Paul. Want to see Reagen-esqe leadership again? Vote for RON PAUL in 2012!!
@less01 Pardon me? A "sell out"? More like I finally wised up and "saw the light". And what do you mean by "I see you got money now eh?" Me? Money? What, are you saying that by becoming a libertarian I "sold out" and became rich? Are you mental? I think you should stop stereotyping ppl on YT, or in life for that matter. Trust me, I am by NO STRETCH, rich. What a joke. Please go troll some other video.
I went to DC to see his funeral procession. It was so hot that day I almost collapsed from heat exhaustion but I remember thinking back to when Reagan was first elected. I was a hard core democrat back then, only 20 years old or so, and didnt understand conservatism, capitalism, free markets, limited govt, and mostly I didnt understand the Constitution.
One of the very few Presidents to put country before political party. Presidents like Reagan are unique in our history; but, hopefully our nation will have someone who shares his values and ideas of limited government.
@pedalboy I dont know how old you are...tak'n a guess you are under 30, but I give you an "F" in US political history. The country was a real mess when Reagan took office, after the Carter dog & pony show. Interest rates 22%, economy a mess, we were losing the Cold War, taxes out of sight...you should get down on yours knees and thank God he was Pres. for 8 years...Read Mikael Gorbachev (sp) how he felt about Regan..
@hitide286 I'm 56 years old and yes I'm better at history than you are. Interest rates were 20% yes I'm very aware of that plus we had a gas crisis (boy how some things never change). Carter was not a great president by any strokes but Paul Volcker, Chairman of the Federal Reserve (remember him?) had already instituted tight monetary policy which while it caused a recession, did bring down interst rates. It was NOT because of Reagan's policies which had to have him RAISE taxdes 7 times
It was not because of Reagan's economic policies (he didn't have one, at least a rational one). I predicted in 1980 that what happened in 2008 was going to happen (and it did). I've read Gorbachev amongst others and the Soviet Union would have collapsed regardless of anything Reagan did as they did not have any money. The Soviets survived on hard currency from other countries as the Ruble was NOT traded in monetary markets. I'm sorry, I didn't see "Morning in America" . I didn't drink koolaid
@pedalboy.again you still get an F...go back and read Gorbachev own account of the negotiations with Reagan...and again under Reagan , we rebuilt our military, lowered taxes across the board for everyone. The Soviets bought the Star Wars threat hook, line and sinker...They knew we could out spend them, Gorbachev knew that...look at his face in their last meeting in Iceland..Start drinking kool-aid..might help with the brain cells...yes the Soviet Union was doomed to fail...we just helped it some
@hitide286 Read your Revisionist History? I read Gorbachev but also quite a few others (which obviously you haven't as all you can reply is some snarky Kool Aid comment; I do remember Jim Jones also) You also obvioulsly didn't read my entire post as you also ignored my comments about U.S. monetary policy from that time (Typical Right Winger, point out nonsense and ignore the rest.) The Soviets were doomed regardless of anything Reagan did. Even KGB files stated that (which you did not read)
@pedalboy The Soviet Union was broke because of a very simple thing. People are great at doing things for themselves and not letting idiots in government try to dictate you job, education, food we eat, cars we drive, etc etc. See it's the same failed vision as the ignorant liberal/progessive ideas that the morons in power now have. Ronald Wilson Reagan believed in America and the free market, too bad so many idiots now days believe that the same failed ideas of Marx will work again
@TheBarrett1971 Obviously, you've never read Marx. And there isn't any such thing as a "Free Market" as the crash of 2008 proved. As you Right Wing/Free Market Freaks caused this country to go down the crapper and will do everything in your power to more of the same in the future. Believed in America my ass, he believed in making he and his friends as much money as possible, nothing more. Friedman has been completely discredited, Krugman has a Nobel to prove that.
@pedalboy The crash of 2008 was caused by a nice plan by idiots like George Soros and his little cronies. Why the hell do you think just by CHANCE it happened right before the 2008 elections genius? Under the rules of Communism you may have noticed you get great economies like CUBA. Wow we all should strive to have a bang up economy like that right. You want to talk about helping your buddies let's bring up the facts about Obama. GE billions in profit $0 in taxes payed, damn that awesome.
