In my former hometown, the city and county had a volunteer department. When the overheads started sounding,it was the law that you pull over to t he right and stop until they stopped, To drive during that time was dangerous...those volunteers knew their job and how to get there...as witnessed by the city's insurance rating of Class 5.

Absolutely impressed by the actions of this company officer or captain. This is how professionals do business. Especially in a trailer which burns in a few minutes tops and with a vic. still inside. I cant tell you how many times I have had people tail our engine or use us to get to work faster and blow through interactions as we bomb them. Lights on siren has to be on several depts have been charged for that to so at the end you were doing something you could be liable for... we were charged.. so dont assume John Q public doesnt know the law.... also if you have a siren By law you must run it with the lights... If you are not a 400lb kid spouting off because you chase fires to get your thrill you would know that everything in the video is legit. The rubberneckers ( and that is why they did not see or hear the Engine ) were impeading a rescue operation. Who is to say that 30 seconds would not have saved the mans life? @beeks442 um in Most all states you cannot force a vehicle to move against traffic from a truck, using a truck IE by siren or horn. . if the person in the blue car backed into that parked car it would be your fault. Proven by case law.. so be carefull what you assume..
@beeks442 you only have control to move vehicles against the flow of traffic with traffic officers. and what i saw you forced that car to back up using your truck which is making you liable and illeagle. several departments were sued by doing this resulting in an accident from the person forced to go against traffic. in our county a car was stopped at a stop sign and the fire truck cam up behind it with some gung hoe rookies cusing the driver to move when he did he was hit. dept was sued.

One of my friends lost there house to a fire. Heres what happened: It was a stormy night and lighting was very frequent. Lighting hit a tree that was right beside the house. The explosive force of the impact from the lighting hitting the tree sent a huge burning branch through a bedroom window sparking the fire. It was a 4 or 5 alarm fire. The response was delayed by fallen trees and they got there too late to save the house. Good news is nobody was harmed.
I think we'll all agree with the "Oh, shit!" when they heard it's a trailer, not to mention the "Get the fuck out the way!" with the brain-dead drivers at the end.
i one hundred percent agree .........i cuss at drivers while riding shotgun (we arent allowed to use sirens unless directly called out by the fd .....were an explorer post)

One of my favorite response videos on youtube! For all the people who talk shit, your damn right I want my local firefighters to ram your damn cars out the way to save someone who is literally trapped in a burning house... @beeks442 ticketable, or more. Our laws also give us complete control over a fire scene, and interferance by civilians of us preforming our duties is an arrestable offence and a felony. So before you just go spouting off because you apparently have a severe case of LMS think about how ignorant it makes you seem. We are all here just to have a good time and enjoy the brotherhood.

There is NO LAW that gives you any kind of power over a civilian. As for all the other part about roids and such...HAHAHAHA. I mean I've had guys slam on their brakes while I have a patient in my ambulance or when I'm on a fire call people just feel the need to drive right through our scene so yes there are arragont people out there that deserve to be run over but hey at least the guy in the blue car made a full out attempt to correct his mistake and get out of the way. :-)

@firemandave334 oh and also you cannot legaly move a car with your siren off. Case law.. Lights on siren has to be on several depts have been charged for that to so at the end you were doing something you could be liable for... we were charged.. so dont assume John Q public doesnt know the law.... also if you have a siren By law you must run it with the lights... OBTW 40 Years Fire and Ems service. Driver Operator Trainer , Haz Mat Tech also..

@firemandave334 i agree with you 100% theres people here in canada that'l do that as well, we were responding to a structure fire and there was this one car pulled out in front of us and took up pretty much the whole road so we couldent get by. long story short that person was arrested and charged for obstructing an emergancy vehicle

I dont know how in the hell some people get their licenses to drive but if that guy would've sat there and did nothing for about 3 more seconds I would've slammed into him! The rubberneckers ( and that is why they did not see or hear the Engine ) were impeading a rescue operation. Who is to say that 30 seconds would not have saved the mans life? @beeks442 um in Most all states you cannot force a vehicle to move against traffic from a truck, using a truck IE by siren or horn. . if the person in the blue car backed into that parked car it would be your fault. Proven by case law.. so be carefull what you assume..

@beeks442 you only have control to move vehicles against the flow of traffic with traffic officers. and what i saw you forced that car to back up using your truck which is making you liable and illeagle. several departments were sued by doing this resulting in an accident from the person forced to go against traffic. in our county a car was stopped at a stop sign and the fire truck cam up behind it with some gung hoe rookies cusing the driver to move when he did he was hit. dept was sued.

One of my friends lost there house to a fire. Heres what happened: It was a stormy night and lighting was very frequent. Lighting hit a tree that was right beside the house. The explosive force of the impact from the lighting hitting the tree sent a huge burning branch through a bedroom window sparking the fire. It was a 4 or 5 alarm fire. The response was delayed by fallen trees and they got there too late to save the house. Good news is nobody was harmed.
