@izzykaladva i ever beat the game after round 99. it goes back to 0 and the discs are slower, but i dont know if i have bad eyes or something... the discs looked a bit bigger than normal.
The discs are the same size. They look bigger because they are closer to you at the start. But normally, they take off much faster so you don't usually get a good look at them when the sprites are still at that size.
It won't be the same. The Wii remote is not a light gun. You would have tto have a crosshair to move around and aim on the Wii whereas the old Zapper actually "saw" blocks of light on screen to register a hit or a miss.
Leave the guy alone! He owned it! If you wanna play with a 10ft distance you'll have to do some rewiring. I tried it and I dont think the sensor functions properly.
Funny how even when you are just showing us what happens at lvl 99, people still whine and complain. You could just show a slideshow of puppies and someone would complain and bitch because it didnt show kittens.
I think I got to Round 100 when I was a kid, and was weirded out by how slow the discs went and actually ended up wasting some of my shots so I never go to see this game reset. I agree that the duck shooter was much more difficult than clay shooting
u r so kool 2 have made it all the way 2 level 99 in clay shooter!no one in my apartment could make it pass level 24 in both clay shooter and duck hunt!my highest level attained was level 28 on my cousin's penguin nes compilation that his maw bought from a street vender.
I suppose the fact that he's five feet from the screen makes it real easy. I mean, that's how I played it when I was 8. I bet if he backed up to ten feet, it wouldn't be so fun.
That'd be great, except the wire for the Zapper is a few inches under 8ft long, and no one plays with it stretched in the air across the room. I was about 6ft away, the optimum distance for the Zapper.
I'd like to know where you get the amazing ability to judge distance from the viewpoint of a cameraphone to a TV screen with no definite objects to use as reference points.
I'm a licensed fuckin land surveyor, ya little douchebag. It's my job to eyeball distances. You said six feet, I eyeballed five. Not amazing, but an ability, nonetheless. The cord seemed longer than that when I was a kid...I went back as far as the cord would let me. Oh well. Anyway, we don't really need to wax intellectual about a game that was made before you were born.
I think the best shooting game Nintendo came out with was for the SNES. It was like the zapper but it was an RPG on the shoulder firing. You had like 6 games in one cartrige. I forget the name of it though. They had one game in there that reminded me of a 3-D version of Galaga. That was the best out of the six. I believe that it came out in the early 1990's. I kinda miss that game. They had a Tetris like game and a Wack-A-Mole like game also in this bunch of six. Does anyone remember the games?
That was called the Super Scope. The game was called Super Scope 6. Yoshi's Safari was another game that utilized the Super Scope.
Unlike the Zapper, instead of just detecting light, it could see the scan line on the TV screen (so it can only work on a CRT screen and nothing else). Based on where the scan line was and whether the gun could see it or not, the game determined where the gun was pointed.
All you have to do is point the gun at a white light and it always counts as a hit. The way the gun (called the "zapper") works is it makes 1 frame of all black on the screen and the targets turn white. There is a light sensitive component in the zapper that sees the white and sends a hit signal to the nes. You can also bypass the circuit and have the gun always send a hit.
If I remember right there's a photo-diode in the gun that sends a signal if it is hit by light kinda like those plug in nightlights that turn on when u turn the light in the room off. So a magnifying glass cold make the target bigger if you set it up right, if u mess up though you will miss every shot.
One time, a couple months back (and this is when the condition of my old NES and older copies of games were ready to die), I fired up duck hunt and where it says "1 Duck; 2 Ducks" the graphics glitched up and said "1 Fuck; 2 Fuck".
I remember the duck hunt if I just put my gun in the middle of the screen up against the glass, no matter where the ducks were my gun would shoot it. Did that for hours.
I got to the end on duck mode when I was little. I did one duck and used the 2nd controler to move the duck to the corner of the screen and then just shoot it and do that over and over for like 6 hours or however long it took :-). The glitch is there :-D
I wonder if they will fix the Duck mode glitch when they bring the game to the Wii. This is how the duck mode should have worked I believe. Also, the game does do it on the NES version, the emulators don't really have to do with anything unless it's hacked/bad dump. If you dump the game yourself, you are safe to bet it's been dumped right. (though, you have to be an idiot to dump the ROM bad =\ It's a very simple procedure) Nice video, and very interesting!
I remember doing this when we were kids. Level 99 was way fast and we were used to having to react really quickly to hit the clay ducks... then when it reset to level 0, we weren't expecting it to be so slow. When the clay ducks came out, I over-reacted and shot quickly and missed the stupid thing...thus losing the entire game on level 0. We were so ticked off and we never attempted it again.
The high score is technically limitless. But it resets itself every time it hits 1,000,000 because there is no room for a 7th digit. If you get game over, the score could have reset itself four times, but the high score on the game select screen will still only show that 6 digit number.

Duck Hunt is a great game. I still favor it over many other games mostly due to it's simplicity.
I made an Interactive Duck Hunt Game...It's on my channel if you wanted to try.

I made 3 GG codes that can be used to get to the end of duck mode. They should work on a real NES.
EYXSLZEI - OZNIPPVK - EIVSLPEY
Note they only work on the SMB/Duck Hunt combo cart.

My games came up as Wuper Mermo Frow, Hugo Hunx, and Worf Dem Draego Meex.
