  • one word SHIT. dont get this ive got it and all they do is slow it down then when you phone them up they always say theres a fault in your area dont get get it ppl .

  • I'm getting this next week its been arranged, I like his afro!

  • so how much is this and can i get it in the USA?

  • We must develop 10,000 MG Internet connection.

  • why dont they just fo the 1 gig a sec or the 100Mb. from what i have seen in europe, speeds are around 100mb.

  • @j7x54

Virgin Media's infrastructure is capable of up to 250mbps however it can in theory, go up to 5.5Gbps. Why is it capped at 50mbps? Because the amount it would cost to run at over 100mbps would raise the prices and make Virgin Media unable to compete. At the current time 50mbps is more than adequete. Plus I think Virgin prefer to keep it at 50mb until BT attempts its own fibre optic network, then when BT can say "We offer up to 100mb broadband" virgin can come in and offer up to 250 etc

  • @geon106 Funny you should say that. They now do fibre optoc broadband but at only 40mb

  • @MrSteamedchicken Yeah BT Infinity is BT's answer to fibre optic. Although as mentioned its only FTTC. I wouldn't ever leave Virgin Media if I can help it. I pay for 50mb and get 48.5 most of the time plus unlimited. People moan because if your in the top 5% users your speed gets reduced(not sure if it does on the top package?) but i do heavy online gaming and never had my speed reduced, yet

  • @geon106 Same =)

  • @j7x54 Virgin Media are attempting to do that, at the near to the end of 2010 they will try bring out 100meg, and last month september 2010 they lauched their 10meg upload, thats how far I've gone and virgin media is my isp, I have the 20package and its fast, so try it out!

  • BT will be releasing a fibre optic service, but the problem is BT will still use copper wire (telephone lines) to our homes & the exchange wil be fibre optic ,dats why it will be 40mb for BT because they cant give you 50mb because of distand & line quality from your home.

Virgin use cable from our homes to fibre optic exchange. Which is MUCH better because we can get the speeds were promised. Virgins quality of line will always be better than BTs untill they get rid of the old telephone lines.

  • Theres no point getting this unless you live in a very urban place like Central London!!

  • Virgin have been laying fibre optic for years now. They only have covered 50% of the uk and i dont think they will expand anymore. I am with them on 8meg but i did a speed test and got 1.5megs hopefully BT will lay fibre to my home

  • :D Halo 3... lol just had to put it in there

  • lol i cant even get one meg when i was at the 8 meg plan, never mind 50

  • Cool afro!

  • This is amazin. Got it yesterday.

  • Hang on. How fast is yours? it can't be 50MB because you only get that with fibre optic lines which arn't even out yet! (but then again if you live close to your local telephone exchange it will be about 8-10MG.)

  • They are out lol. Look at my speed test vids.

  • Where are they out????

  • All over the UK

  • Lol funny guy, fiber optics have been layed out by virgin media in the UK for years! I have been on 50mbit for months now and it's always a steady 6MB/s down.

  • Liking the fro man, I has this broadband

  • And your super big afro!
