  • XKR-S Is alot faster I agree.

  • if it were the xkrs i think it would beat the turbo

  • I took a road trip in the old xkr convertible(the one before the 5.0) and it was amazing, quiet and comfortable while cruising, and an animal at gaining speed and passing. A truly amazing car!

  • Im surprised how well the jag actually did

  • the porshe is on stareroides

  • Porsche Turbo is a proper sports car, Jag is a GT car... more confortable, heavier... Jags performance wasn't bad ;)

  • The Jag XKR-S is a much better comparison to the 911 turbo...

  • I love how people say "not bad for Jag" considering the Jaguar is the main character of speed, one of the most beautiful animals on Earth... deserves a car named after it. If their saloon car can hit 225 mph I wonder what the XKR would do under the same circumstances at Bonneville, I reckon at least 230-235 with the XKR.

  • I would love to see how the XKR-S would hold up in a race like this.

  • not bad for Jag

  • I'll have a Merc CL550 over either of them.

  • stupid race, 911 turbo is a sports car, XKR is a GT cruiser.

  • the jaguar is much more luxury. the porsche may be faster, but that's all.

  • @Bwause83 the 997tt has all that same luxury that jag, maybe more.

  • you should see what happens when you put 500bhp in a 911, check out the GT3 RS 4.0!!

  • couple of cars behind might not be that bad, but put these two cars on a track and the Porsche would fly ahead, but having said that where is all that 500 bhp going?

  • @printin8 You got to take the gearing of each car in consideration when you talk about matching them up. If two cars each have 500hp, then the car with the shorter gearing would get up to speed quicker but would run slower on the top end. Add more gears to the equation and it will continue to pull hard on the top end. The XKR is a GT and has longer gears than the Porsche. To be honest, I wouldn't match these two cars up. The XKR is a great competitor for the M6, SL600 AMG.

  • sorry my end to mate.....before I had the turbo S I had the 2004 Cayenne S, no bullshit the Porsche would outpace the jag on a straight, now bear this in mind, in Europe the Mk5 Golf GTI had the same performance figures as the 2004 Cayenne S 0-60 and top speed, I took GTI out while my Brother in Law took the jag, in the mid range the jag could not keep up and I took the car to 140MPh with the jag still lagging remember the jags horespower is not fully deployed on to road

  • @printin8 typical Porsche owner telling us what you own, what you do, who you are. Porsche is all about showing how well you are doing. Money can never buy class ever. Do yourself a favour and drive the 5.0l XKR not the XK. It is as fast as an overated Aston DBS and £100k cheaper, it's more exclusive than a Porsche and no one will think your a twat.

  • @5otrue its not about class, its about spending hard earned money on what you want. class earns money, what you do with it is something else, I make profits from the stock market and use the money from there to buy cars, not from my income.

  • I had two 911s the last one a Carrera 4S (997) electric window failed and dash rattled non stop. Not saying it wasn't well built but it's no better than many other cars I've driven.

  • I own a cayenne Turbo S you twit, and im a name of Lloyds of London, I have the funds to buy the car I want, and buy your silly arse off, I said the golf GTi was quicker than the XK not XKR I had both at one point and clearly knew them well, Fucking yank!!! Ive furniture older than your country and probably worth more to, try simple to justify why the jag fails to keep up with the Porsche, also have a 997 C4S. fucking colonial twit

  • @printin8 Simple, the Jaguar is not geared as aggressive as the Porsche. Also, given the type of turbo, a flat-6 with the right turbo is a good match for a 5.0L supercharged V8. I'm pretty sure the Porsche is also a few hundred pounds lighter than the Jaguar. So, with all that being said the Jaguar being only 2-3 carlengths behind is not bad.

  • Printin8 what are you goin on about? I have an XKR 5.0 and there isn't much that can keep up with it, certainly nit a Golf GTI! That's just ridiculous!! Also the XKR is owned by Tata not Ford. I've had two XK's they are brilliantly built with top quality materials, no rattles, creaks or mechanical issues. You are talking from your dung shoot bud!!

  • @Leaperxkr no rattles or creaks or mechanical issues!!!!! what like a Porsche? O yeah! there full of them!!!

I said the GTI was quicker than the XK not XKR, I had both and in the mid-range the GTI blew it away, trust I spent weeks playing around with both of them.

  • 500bhp!! Supercharged and it can't even keep up with the flat 6 turbo!!! How can jag be so reckless in making this, where is the power going???? I had a XK, and let it go after three months, why? Because my golf Gti was quicker and better built than the jag. I guess that is what to expect when ford build your car!!

What's scary is that the 911 turbo is at the bottom end of the fast bracket of fast porsches. The S would murder it and it couldn't touch the GT2 or 3.

How can jag, no, sorry I me

  • @printin8 Bottom line! You couldn't afford the XK, so it let you go. As far as the Golf GTi being quicker, come on man get sober before you leave comments on youtube!

  • @mjg35c please be free to check out my facebbok page, Philip Kemp-Bell, black and white pic of me, you will see the jag and other cars that i had.

    regards

  • @printin8 Went to your Face book page and saw a pic of you but not your cars. Doesn't matter, I was out of line for assuming you couldn't afford the XK.I don't know you or your financial situation so my apologies, however I do stand by this, unless you had an older model XK (pre- AJ Gen III V8, 385hp) there's NO WAY a Golf GTi is quicker.

  • Comment removed

  • @jamecontent I agree with you! knowing both cars I think that the Turbo is much sharper but the XK is in a class of its own. And these days Jags really are reliable!

  • Jaguar, German cars are boring now......same design for the porche for the last thirty years.

  • @Tommyfungun you can't change perfection....

  • @MrCosmin94 It's because German car makers are boring at designing a car. British cars on the other hand like Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Range rovers, Jaguars, TVRs. are stunning to look at.

I don't see the Porche design as perfection I see it as lazy

  • @Tommyfungun

"I don't see the Porche design as perfection I see it as lazy"

    lol:D

  • @brightlights456X At least I made some one chuckle with my rant ah ha XD

  • Jag is better

  • Listen to that Porsche it sounds like my washing machine on it's spin cycle, how do you Porsche lovers put up with that. No wonder he had the window up so he couldn't hear that brutal V8 roar. Clinical Porsche? No thanks! Sound, speed, beautiful Jag? most definitely.

  • @5otrue

    well said.

even with aftermarket exhaust, it still sounds like a louder washing machine.

XKR is style & sound. That's why I got the Jag after visiting the Porsche dealer. I just can't stand the sound & I don't care how fast it is.

I was putting gas at the Alhambra Costco today, got 3 compliments on the XKR by other customers there. Love the Jag.

  • Many don't understand that the Jag has very conservative figures listed of it's performance from the factory. They have the "grunt" where you need it in the midrange. Driving on the street from a rolling start, the torque in the Jag is incredible! I have always loved Porsche and Ferrari, and been a Hot Rodder in my teen age years late 70's when you could get a muscle car cheaply. The Jag is like a refined muscle car, with the torque but much more comfort. Something you can live with.

  • I'd take the Jag anyday!!

  • porsche forever

  • actually ive driven a lot of sports cars from 1991 up to now,

Jag XK-R is amazing and drives absolutely fantastic. much better than carrera, carrera S, gives you the feeling of a king in a sports car

  • pqp se aquele é o jaguar magina o carro que o camera ta :0

  • There is no wood vaneer in my XKR, unless the piano black facia is wood but the plastics are all soft touch and even the lower sections of the centre console are soft. It matches any german car I've ever owned. Sorry troy you're out of touch bud!

  • The thing I admire so much about the Porsche, and indeed all German cars, is the quality of the plastic used on the interior. English cars provide their occupants with leather, wood veneer and a sense of occasion.

Just smell that plastic and feel the difference!

  • @Troy36s

Not sure where do you get your idea from.

I owned Porsche, SL AMG & currently XKR. Sorry to let you know, XKR interior is best. The quality of leather is softer, by the way unlike Porsche, XKR does not have much plastics, Most of the stuff is either leather or chromed. XKR does not use plastic seat adjustment buttons like Porsche, they chrome trimed them. Don't get me wrong, Porsche is already better than BMW, and slightly better than the Merc in some models.

  • Very funny reply matty!! Lol. Back on the quality thing, I'm not a millionaire (well maybe on paper :0) but I do own a new XKR ( crap vid on here somewhere) and I have had 911's. My chairman has a 997 Carrera S, the 911s rattled and one of mine broke down at 6,000 miles. I've been to the factory to see the XKR being built. It's a high quality build, no corners cut on later generation cars. Views on here are subjective and not always based on experience or fact..I say that those who think the XK

  • @m5boarddotcom How about the Jaguar XKR Vs the Aston Martin V8 Vantage?

Both once had the same heart under the bonnet. Now both under new ownership and new engine.

  • @mondeost2202008

They don't have the same heart for 2 years now. V8 Vantage use 2009 block but slightly larger. 2010 on XKR is a completely different animal.

  • @rtingdds I was saying they used to have the same block so seeing the new Vantage and XKR go head to head would be interesting plus if possible, a Vantage S versus the new XKR-S though I think the Jag would have an edge with 550hp.

  • For a sports car, The XKR is fine. For a Grand Tourer, I'd say It did very well. Probably faster than the more expensive DB9. V8 Vantage though I respect all astons is probably a fail for being a sports car. Underpowered, a bit heavy and although pretty, It looks like a scaled down DB9 just like the Porsche Boxster being a cheaper 911.

Oh, and I own a Villa in Sicily, Italy and a Maserati Quattroporte

Just like people in youtube, I am a Billionaire

    IN MY DREAMS :D

  • For everyone comparing reliability and performance and price, this is not a proper comparision. Porsche cars are sportscars made for high speed racing which do not have luxury features or safety features like the jag. The jag is a luxury car which has these features and is probably more reliable aswell. Also, for those who say they owned both, but we all know you didnt, the jag is more reliable because I doubt you pushed it as much as you pushed the porsche you apparently owned.

  • My two XKR's have never had so much as a rattle. But then neither did my last 911. but the Jag is a great car.

  • Jag is half the price and 10 times more reliable! :P

  • @mannionmax reliable than a Porsche? stop dreaming!

  • @MrCosmin94

You will say that because you don't own one. I had a Porsche & now a XKR. XKR is far far more reliable then the Porsche I had (and I bought it new too!) Plus the Porsche dealer services treated you like you are nothing( I guess way too many people owns porsche now, they treat you no different then BMWs ). Jag services are awesome!

  • @MrCosmin94

Unless you own a public rating institute, otherwise you are the one that is dreaming.

Jag, Lincoln, Lexus just got rated 5 stars top 3 most reliable in 2011 JD power. Not Porsche

  • @mannionmax 10 times more reliable?.. eh i wold disagree. porsche has been engineering the 911 for around 40 years. it is very reliable nowadays.

  • @mannionmax Jag's aren't more reliable than Porsches. Check your facts, please.

  • @mannionmax your a moron..

  • @mannionmax

I thought Porsche were one of the most reliable cars in the world. Being German 'n' all.

  • @mannionmax and it's for horrible drivers like you!

  • @mannionmax more reliable than what?

  • jag

  • porsche ist the beste race car!!

  • The Porsche is cheap looking and extremely ugly.

  • i want to see the jag vs. an f430 from a rollin start, who u think it'll win in a race from 60-270 kmh ?

  • @gregfiesta1 F430.

  • @m5boarddotcom what about xkr vs. m6

  • @m5boarddotcom what about xkr vs. m6 or stndard db9

  • these two cars are the appropriate comparo given that they are comparably priced. To all of you who said "well see what a fvking turbo could do to that jag".... the turbo is like $80k more. You'd have to then put an xkr-175 or something in there.

  • Hi, can you run the xkr against a carrera s pdk please, cos I want to know how much faster the jag is..

  • @oliverb96 run it against the turbo s from standstill and watch that jag go backwards. lol

  • @GaryDoctor1 Yeah, I agree, my dad had an 06 xkr the 4.2, now we got a carrera s pdk, and it kicks the jags ass, but i doubt the carrera s could beat the new 5.0, they seem mental.

  • @GaryDoctor1

I know....But the Jag is just so much more beautiful than the Turbo S though!

  • Comment removed

  • tne new XKR 5.0is very fast, really. And it doesn`t look so on the street.

  • In the 50`s the Jags were the fastest sports cars

  • is that the 500+bhp one? either way.. never knew them jags were that fast! respect

  • @AddersZXR4 Yes,it says that in the description,and 0-60 takes 4.0 seconds flat,despite what jaguar says.So thats not far off the 911s 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds.So yes,the XKR is a very fast car

  • 3:21 most beautiful sound ! ///M

  • @FASTSIGNAL It's a Porsche dumbass.

  • XKR and 911 turbo, they are worth to be loved.

  • Deutschland vs England.

    DEUTSCHLAND for the win!

  • @abbababbaabba not in the war.The Americans won it for us,or helped us.

  • I love them both!

  • Do a standing start with the Turbo S 997mk2 PDK and watch the Jag look like its applied its brakes. LOL

  • @cutelookindoctor very true, the new turbo is incredibly rapid because of the traction it can achieve from a rear positioned engine.

  • Does the jag have a remapped ecu?

  • homo driver in jag

  • Actually Tiptronic Turbo is quicker than the manual one. I was surprised by XKR, hoped for a bigger gap.

  • Damn I love Jag's. These new ones are so damn sexy. All I need now is 113k and I can get one of those XJ Supersports. :p----- drool

  • I thought the XKR would be sort of... a slow and jerky car that'll do 0-60 in like 6sec+, 0-100mph in like 3 billion light years with a gearbox from a 78' Pontiac Firebird.. But this is actually impressive considering it's a bargain exotic good looking car..being ALMOST as fast as a 911 is.. just.. WOW! Now you finally have a choice if you hate the looks of the 911 and think the GTR is a nerds car! all though I think i'll still get a 996 turbo or a Corvette Z06 since the ZR1 is too expensive atm

  • @cutelookindoctor - That's like saying Lamborghini is rubbish because it is owned by VW, Ferrari is rubbish as it is owned by Fiat, Bugatti is rubbish etc - oh and btw, Porsche is now owned by VW.

I'm a Jag driver and feel it is definitely a more comfortable, classy and less obvious choice than a 911.

  • So long Jaguar

  • gotta love the jag !!

  • I'm a bit tired of the 911 design...Jag has a lot more class.

  • @jtor10 a jag will never ever have more class than a 911. Impossible. Ford now Tata V Porsche hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

  • @cutelookindoctor still designed in england.....Tata is just the primary share holder and has little influence in the design phase and construction of the car, hence its still british.

  • @cutelookindoctor You just mentioned the words Jaguar and class, those words fit. Porsche however, fits with, shit ride, crap interior, and cardboard boot liner, rofl.

  • @LukeNAESA10 What a Prick! Porsche is known for its superior build quality and over engineering. The interiors are well built. But being as thou your a dreamer who's never owned a 997 you wouldn't know. Guarantee a jag would break down long before a Porsche. End of.

  • @jacob24199 Wow, what a tosser. I'm a dreamer who wants a Jag, not a 997. A 997 is a Beetle.. and uh, Jag outranks Porsche in the JD power and reliabilty survey, it's right near Lexus at the top.. so uh, learn ya facts first. Prick.

  • To be honest, If you ask any Porsche owner, they can tell you how un-reliable Porsches are. Porsche & Mercedes Benz AMG are the 2 worst reliable cars I have ever owned! If you don't believe me, talk to one of the Porsche mechanic. However my 2010 XKR (24000 miles on it) is the most reliable luxury car I have ever owned. I am speaking from my personal experiences.

  • @LukeNAESA10 Another jealous prick who can't afford a Porsche and doesn't understand cars. Porsche is renowned for its build quality and over engineering. The ride would destroy jag in its sleep. How fast has the jag gone round the ring. No where near what Porsche has. Enough said!

  • @cutelookindoctor ... Even if I could afford one, it would be the last car on my mind as I think Porsches are vulgar.

You seem to be forgetting though, this is a supercar that has looked the same for the past 40 years. Also it's a supercar racing a GT car. If you grand toured in the Porsche you'd need back surgery at the end of the journey..

The Jag is so much heavier, has so much more equipment.. If this was racing an XKR-S it would be trailing behind with its tail between its legs.

  • @LukeNAESA10 haha how about, firm racing inspired ride, nice interior with lots of leather, and why do you need a boot liner in a porsche? and anyway i doubt its cardboard

  • @run4urmony Honestly, you think the Porsche has a nice interior? It must be the only car you've been in, in your entire life... and also the automatic gearbox in the Jag shits all over the Porsche in terms of shifting speed and the paddles just make that even better. Oh yes, I forgot, the boot is in the front of the Porsche.. rofl..

  • @LukeNAESA10 I agree the Jaguar has better Interior

    BUT

Porsche's PDK Transmission is like no other. It's far superior in terms of shifting speed. The Jag's gear shifter is classy though.

This is coming from a Jaguar Fan.

  • @cutelookindoctor

We considered a Porsche but the small interior, dick head image and silver spray painted plastic interior trim which looked the same as the old Ford Cougar I had from 1999 made up my mind. My wife and I both have Jags now, and intend to stick with the brand. Wish I could afford the current XKR though, but unfortunately I can't yet. Maybe one day. I've got no desire to own a Porsche after getting up close enough to see how cheap they look in the flesh.

  • @gills8752 not being nasty but that's a typical answer from someone who's middle aged and who in their right mind would admit to owning a Ford Cougar. (YUK) Jags are for older people. Build quality and engineering outstrips the Jag second to none. At 34 I ordered my 2nd C2S Cab. At 38 my series 2 turbo would eat any Jag for breakfast. Serious Jags are ok if your a Sales Rep.

  • @cutelookindoctor.How misinformed you are.At 31 l bought my first new c4s, loved it but build quality was not perfect. At 36 a new turbo, again great car.l now own a XKR and the build and quality are simply in a different league.Performance is so narrow that a good driver in eithier would win accordingly. The jag simply feels so well catered for most driving situations..unlike the 911.

Re your sales rep comment,l was a sales rep when l had the porsches(albeit a good one)..I am now CEO..Think !!

  • @benjimin44 im a millionaire too... lol we are all millionaires on youtube nowadays, and CEOs who spend their time justifying their egos on youtube.

  • @matty2k001

A witty response without swearing ,very good made me chuckle.

  • @benjimin44 What utter rubbish. Jag build quality is nothing compared to Porsche. Fact. Another bullshitter who's owned nothing. CEO of what? Road Sweeping. Dick.

  • @cutelookindoctor Being an understanding person enables me to tolerate your ignorance.Thank you kindly for your informed input.

  • @benjimin44 Alrite then Tired! Get some sleep. Can you hear that noise, there's a mini violin playing just for you. Mummy's boy! Lol

  • @benjimin44 Hey Benny Boy! Look at the latest video, Gen 2 Porsche Turbo v your decrepit old Jag. Now tell me how superior your jag is and how you would choose Tata over Class, Style, Superior Build quality and Speed. Your lucky the Porsche is not doing Launch control because at least in this clip you just about see the Porsche. Lol

  • The same coment about the M6 vs the R8 V10! Not in the same class ( GT vs Sport car)

What about the M6 vs the XKR Coupe and the R8 V10 vs Porsche 997 turbo??

GT vs GT and Sport Car vs Sport Car.

Great video and great cars as always.

Waiting for the third GT video, Gustaf...

    Greetings from Brazil!

  • a turbo makes all the diference.

  • Wow the Jaguar did really well. I mean, we all knew it wasn't going to win but it was hanging in there.

  • Gustav, Jaguar XKR 5,0 Coupe VS RS6 ??

  • i drove many times a "base" jaguar xj8 with 300hp, and they are very quick cars, especialy towards triple digit speeds and they steer nice too.

Its no wonder this XKR can compete with exotics.

  • im glad u all like xkr i work for jaguar and they are a great car :)

  • @yea Jag can sit in 5 people in comfort but 911 only 2+2, wait to see the new Bmw M5 soon, but for some reason those used M5 M6 u can get like 30k for one, it is cheap, but u cant get same price same power on Jag...

  • @MrMartinLee1 Trust me mate, the jag cant, we had the old 4.2 xkr, and i was bout 5.3 foot at the time, and it was terrible, no leg room so you put the chair forward, then the person in front dont have no room, and i had to keep my head at a tilt, couldnt go more than half an hour in the back, so we swaped it for the gen 2 p11 s with pdk..

  • that jag made a nice sound at the end. DAYYUM

  • Hello kitty.... Goodbye kitty...

  • Jag put up a decent fight.

  • Note to Jaguar: DAMMM you guys have quite the product! ME likey!!

  • gustav what are you thoughts on jaguar vs aston martin?

  • we wanna see XKR VS NOT TUNED M6

  • old cars.... haha wow i want 1

  • ahhhh das ist porsche

  • @Turbulence654321 yes men....always the best =D

  • gt cars and supercars are becoming confused nowerdays....gt cars are so powerful and fast now.

  • Wow, that Jag is ALOT quicker than I thought... Going up against a pure supercar, it held it's own!

  • The Jag is pretty fast for a car that weights nearly 1800 kg

  • Quite the difference when the 911 Turbo ISN'T a convertible nor a tiptronic. That Jag XKR sure is fast though!

  • @m3trooper However I think stil lthe Jaguar hung i nthere pretty good. It is fast!

  • @m3trooper I dun think being a convertible does much difference. A tip though does!

  • the jag looks very sexy!

  • I like the ending part when they're showing off... :)

  • i love this show !!!

  • You should include some breaking tests at the end gustav, that would also be nice to see!

  • very impressed with the jag.. did better than I expected.

  • @themorganator The XKR is fast and relatively light.

  • Really shows you the difference in speed between the hardtop 6-speed and the convertible tiptronic.

  • Porsche sounds nice

  • lo sapevo che alla fine una turbo la spuntava...è il tiptronic che lascia un po' a desiderare allora...
