In 1966 at the age of 24 I got a job selling Chevrolet automobiles in Chicago. they put me at the desk by the radio in the front of the showroom where the sun would beat down on me all day long. No one else would ever sit there, hence no one would stay at the non job. I did though. There was a program on AM in the afternoon named Memory Lane with Art Hellyer, Look him up here in You tube. I would sit in that sun waiting for him to play that song and had the same reaction as above.
Isn't this called Vesti La Giubba? Perhaps the uploader used another translation of the name or something, i dunno. I compared it with this and others by Mario Lanza: /watch?v=Z0PMq4XGtZ4
@Gogohax Actually, not all Juggalos fall into the stereotypes people so quickly place us in. I do love this song, but because it is a beautiful work or art and Pavarotti's voice is an amazing thing to behold. Thank you, and good day.
i had this part of the song on my ipod 5 years ago but my computer's hard drive crashed and I forgot the name of the song. Only until now was my memory jogged... In Odessa, Ukraine of all places
1:54 to 2:20 it probably the most famous part of the song and everytime i hear it, it sends shivers down my spine. truly a work of art and a masterpeice
@VictorVonFox I agree...its just one of those dramtic points that just hits you . I mean the combo of the orchestra and his voice....just....wooooowww :)
@Esterztarz ridi pagliacci: he tells himself to laugh, even though his love has shattered his heart, he has to laugh at the sorrow that it is causing him because that is his profession as a clown. ps.he's heartbroken because of his wife, Columbina.
This IS Pavarotti, Placido Domingo´s voice is totally different, for me more colourful (he started his career as baryton). IMHO, Pavarotti is one of the best singers ever, he did so much for opera music, but for me, for my heart Placido Domingo is number one - he is so emotional, makes me cry. Pavarotti is more technical, with great high tones, but closer to my soul is Placido...
This is the same aria that John Quale(Prince Poppycock) performed in the quarterfinal round of AGT last year! He's very talented, but this is the BEST!
@donniecatalano You were too optimistic... There are always bad people out there, who just have to put their ink stains on everything. Best to ignore them.
Such tremendous execution of a vocal... And absolutely callous execution of an orchestra I in shock... Horror!!!! To an orchestra - and the conductor in a fire chamber!!!!!!!!!!! It is impossible so to finish a musical theme without emotions!!!!
luciano pavarotti is definitely one of a kind i cant see anyone else trying to sing this song....this song is so good it just makes you think deeply and in a way relaxes you...i think i will add this song into my novel when i make it into a movie ^^
screw the simpsons fans!

Ridi pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!
Ridi del duol che t'avvelena il cor!
(rough) Translation from 1:54 - 2:20
Laugh loud, pagliaccio, forget all of your troubles,
Laugh off the pain that so empoisons your heart.
