I can't figure out why more people weren't taking shelter during this - and even more surprised that the security guard (who's briefly visible) wasn't working to get people out of the open mall, away from the roof and skylights which could very easily have been broken.
I suspect a lot of these people eventually discovered their cars had been pummeled and busted up - unless this mall has covered parking.

I'm old enough to remember when the mall was open air. No place to hide except the stores and no parking garage. It had a unique atmosphere back then that cannot be duplicated. It was especially nice walking there at Christmas and in the snow. They also had a nice Hickory Farms store with plenty of samples. Its still a nice mall and Steve at Chicl-fil-a is nice.

I guarantee that the windows were made of real glass. They have a layer of plastic in between two panes of glass, just like a windshield of a car, only flat.

But the people down there could not have known that, could they? They're putting an awful lot of faith in the foresight of the builders, that they would have known to put in window panes capable of withstanding baseball size hail.

I looked at Google Earth yesterday for the first time and I saw the south pole has ice but the north? Gone entirely. You can see the Arctic Ocean in its' entirety. That may explain strange happenins'.

Had I been in the control room in the mall, I'd have made an announcement to ask people to move inside stores, away from the open space under the glass panels, as a precaution until the hale ended. Cause apparently they can't figure it such common sensical action on their own. :/

I guarantee that the windows were made of real glass. They have a layer of plastic in between two panes of glass, just like a windshield of a car, only flat.

But the people down there could not have known that, could they? They're putting an awful lot of faith in the foresight of the builders, that they would have known to put in window panes capable of withstanding baseball size hail.
It would certainly have been prudent and sensible to get out from under them, and not gamble on such uncertainties.

I looked at Google Earth yesterday for the first time and I saw the south pole has ice but the north? Gone entirely. You can see the Arctic Ocean in its' entirety. That may explain strange happenins'.
