  • I want to live with Dr. Savage-Rumbaugh and the bonobo clan. I could be the free-loading uncle who never got his life together but everyone still loves.

  • i cant watch these, im seriously planning to kill these apes just to see the reaction. Its like wiping my bucket list clear and this is the only goal i have.

  • Apes WILL rise!

  • @pianissimo101

    Humans are apes.

  • @entewente Agreed!

  • @pianissimo101 we already have

  • dear great ape trust I just want to say is you guys are doing a fabulous job with the bonobos, please dont listen to people that sit around and get on you tube to look for videos that they dont agree with they have nothing better to do or they have no friends because they spread to much negitivity,so the only thing they have to do is try to get a rise out of anybody thats gonna give them a lil bit of an argument, the best thing to do is dont even give them an answer, " wierdos" love u!!

  • his daddy has big nuts

  • You guys should feed it omega-3, animal fats and protein. It's what made humans capable of developing larger brains.

  • @ChetzNation that took thousands of years

  • @juanarruti Indeed it did but my theory was that, as I heard some neurologist talk about, by consuming the right substance the brain was allowed to evolve, at least slightly, beyond what's natural.

Like consuming lime (not the fruit) gives you a better skeleton.

  • @ChetzNation That's just one of many theories that attempt to explain why our brain grew. The world is a confluence of variables, so I doubt there is just 1 contributing factor. One theory suggests the re-positioning of our ancestor's voice box helped us form more complex sounds, which led to more complex brain thought patterns. There's also a theory that suggests we started walking upright to carry more fruit to give to potential female mates, which in turn led to changes in our diet, etc, etc.

  • why dont they treat him like a human baby without ever really coming into contact with bonobos??! it would help him better come into human society and allow him to be far more intelligent. who knows what he could do?!

  • @BijiApoCheHugoChavez

I'm pretty sure that its been done, and i think that the idea is that the younger bonobos imitate the other bonobos, as a way of learning, kinda like how we learnt to speak and stuff :)

  • How much do male bonobos interact with their young?

  • @ahonestwoman

Thanks for your interest and concern. Teco will most certainly be reared by his mother Elikya as well as by Panbanisha, Kanzi, Nyota, Matata and the other bonobos. He will also have a human caregiver in Dr. Sue Savage-Rumbaugh. This is the bicultural environment that has been so well documented in this noninvasive, language research since the early 1980s.

  • @GreatApeTrust I have one question? How is this study helping the Great Apes in the wild? Great Apes are our cousins and they are becoming more Extinct everyday from the wild. Giving some Great Apes a decade to exist in the wild.

  • @ahonestwoman So what? You want them to focus on AIDS research since that is an epidemic? should they switch to Galapagos turtles? how about just stop research all together and clean up litter off Detroit, that's a big problem too. good lord woman... i'm embarrassed for you

  • @ahonestwoman Lunatic.

  • @ourben LOL..

  • @ahonestwoman why don't you ask, before you assert.

  • @ahonestwoman it's called RESEARCH and PROGRESS. how else are we going to uplift a species without truly understanding them? you are no saint. you prolly own a dog or cat, yeh? you are no better. i applaud these researchers and hope in the future i'll be able to discuss Teco's favorite movie with him/her. it'll be a great day
