Berry is good but why are we talking about him. I don't see him in any mock drafts so he is staying in school and Mays is most likely coming out. Yeah Berry is good and physical so is Mays. Time will tell who is the better pro.
And BTW, anybody who says stats mean nothing is a fool...but college stats mean very little when evaluating NFL talent. Look at what Chris Johnson (Titans) YPC when in college...not as good as NFL...but Reggie Bush was way better in college than the NFL. That's just 1 example, there are many more. If college stats directly translated to NFL success, Herschel Walker, Pat Barnes, Ron Dayne, Ryan Leaf, Danny Wuerfull, and so many more (I could go all day) would've been NFL stars. Not the case.
Mays is nowhere close to the player Sean Taylor was. He's a whole lot of hype and measureables and that's it. The closest thing to Sean Taylor in college right now is Eric Berry.
Get real. Eric Berry won't be drafted anywhere near as high as Taylor Mays. Not even close. Watch some games and see how TM closes on the ballcarrier and delivers the blow. He can run down any RB sideline to sideline and he brings the pain when he gets there.

USC's front 7/8 is so dominant that nobody hardly ever makes it to the secondary, and they run an NFL style defense. Mays is off the screen when you watch on TV, that's how deep he plays. When the ball or a runner comes his way he is almost always in position and makes the play with ease. Future NFL star.

Well it's true that black people have better genetics compared to white people...well compared to everyone, when it comes to sports and muscle. But I'm the starting D-end on varsity so I have a pretty good body (not trying to brag :P). But yeah he was pretty born to have a good body and play football.

CBs, some RBs, and the occasional receiver have run that. But I agree, you won't see Taylor Mays or any other legitimate safety run a 4.2. 4.4 for a safety is ridiculous as it is.

He runs around a 4.26. Bo Jackson ran a 4.17 or 4.12 and he was 6'1, 225 lbs.

Mays is gonna be a nice safety, but to the people saying he's gonna be better that Sean Taylor, PLEASE STOP!!!! They say that his stats aren't good because no one throws deep or he's overshadowed because of all the talent, that is BS. He's good but not the impact playmaker that Taylor and Ed Reed was in college. I don't have to go through all the NFL talent those guys played with and they were always on Sports Center.Mays will but doesn't bring showtime like Reed and Taylor. Just my opinion.....

plus the the biggest difference between the two is if sean taylor got the ball in his hands he could score at any moment. bro trust me i study football(college and pro)and i have yet to witness mays get a interception let alone score with it. yeah he will probably be a great pro but he can only be him he's no sean taylor period

naw fam im actually a miami fam but in my opinion the sec is tougher den the pack-10. and it really pisses me off when people say mays is the next sean taylor. you guys use the excuse that he plays around a lot of great talent so he doesnt get to shine, well ill put miami's 2001 and 2002 against any one of petes usc teams. almost every one that sean taylor played with as far as secondary and line backers and a couple d line men are all starters in the nfl.u watch sean t highlights

yeah george is exactly right eric berry is much more similiar to sean taylor then taylor mays is. hes got ball skills like a reciever just like sean taylor did and hes an explosive tackler. just look at the hit he put on knowsean moreno.plus berry plays in a much much tougher conference.

LOL...SEC homer clown. Berry is good but he's a midget at 5'11" 195 compared to either Taylor Mays (6'3" 230). Berry plays in a secondary with not nearly as much talent as USC secondary so his stats are a bit inflated. Bob Sanders is a better comparison for Berry. Taylor Mays is the next Sean Taylor without a doubt. Minus the death of course.

Berry is good but why are we talking about him. I don't see him in any mock drafts so he is staying in school and Mays is most likely coming out. Yeah Berry is good and physical so is Mays. Time will tell who is the better pro.

And BTW, anybody who says stats mean nothing is a fool...but college stats mean very little when evaluating NFL talent. Look at what Chris Johnson (Titans) YPC when in college...not as good as NFL...but Reggie Bush was way better in college than the NFL. That's just 1 example, there are many more. If college stats directly translated to NFL success, Herschel Walker, Pat Barnes, Ron Dayne, Ryan Leaf, Danny Wuerfull, and so many more (I could go all day) would've been NFL stars. Not the case.

Mays is nowhere close to the player Sean Taylor was. He's a whole lot of hype and measureables and that's it. The closest thing to Sean Taylor in college right now is Eric Berry.

Get real. Eric Berry won't be drafted anywhere near as high as Taylor Mays. Not even close. Watch some games and see how TM closes on the ballcarrier and delivers the blow. He can run down any RB sideline to sideline and he brings the pain when he gets there.

GeorgeW-That's because he plays a deep CF, and nobody can throw deep on USC...the guy is always where he is supposed to be, if you watched the games you would notice. USC's front 7/8 is so dominant that nobody hardly ever makes it to the secondary, and they run an NFL style defense. Mays is off the screen when you watch on TV, that's how deep he plays. When the ball or a runner comes his way he is almost always in position and makes the play with ease. Future NFL star.
