Joni Mitchell's music is so beautiful, they don't make em like the used to, that's for sure. It's hard to believe you used to hear her on the radio when I was a kid. Kids today got jipped, they are culturally malnourished and it's a shame because music like this stays with you for a life time. It's all I can do to keep from crying when I hear this song, I love it.

One of the beauties in life is that no matter if you're rich or poor, there are some artists who can touch you and uncover that part of each of us that is free from the bullshit facades we create either to build up our own self-esteem or to hide from the ugly side of life. Joni's been a puff of magic in this area for nearly 5 decades.

The beauty for me is that I didn't fully appreciate her until later in her career so as much as I love her, there's still a lot of "discovery" left for me.

I always thought that "Night Ride Home" was the last of Joni's really great albums ( her subsequent work, though meritous, just hasn't grabbed me like her earlier material).

I used to enjoy listening to this song and the rest of this haunting lovely album in a darkened room basking in this music.
