To be a historically accurate: this is from 1995 and is thus about Cadillac Tramps' guitarist Jonny Two Bags--he joined Social Distortion in 2000. Dr. Dream was the Tramps label.
The really funny part is that the Vandals drummer on this song, Josh Freese, was Soc. D.'s studio drummer on their 2011 album.

That would be pretty impressive if they were "faking RANCID," considering that this song came out before Rancid was a band. It also came out before Jonny Wickersham even had a career, they don't even spell Johnny the same way. "Two bags" refers to the fact that he is too privileged to be singing the blues. In the old days traveling musicians would carry everything they had in a single suitcase.

To my understanding the name "two bags" refers to the fact that he carried two bags that he had all his earthly possessions in. Maybe its a drug reference though.
