  • Lovely song, Glee must be somehow influenced by this!

  • This makes me wish I was 14 again

  • the original , glees a joke

  • 1:16 - Shaggy's butchering that bass and it's not even plugged in!

  • My Wife came in as I was watching this so I quickly switched to hardcore amateur porn.

  • McDenzien how bloody right you are too!!!!!!!!!!!! Same goes for High School Musical and Camp Rock. I am 40 years old and have just done a playlist of all kids from fame on my youtube bloody bril. Brings back so many memories. My littlun is 7 and she loves it too.

  • Did they actually buy anything in this shop or did they just go in to piss around?

  • @DaveWBedford Bruno's Dad bought the keyboard..

  • Much better than Glee, and not a fag in sight !!!

  • @loosewheels1000 just one commenting on it, that being you.

  • The energy just flies of her, she always had a stunning voice too....Doris was such a great character...

  • @emmyjo720 dude, the chick was dosed up to the eyeballs with amphetamines 24/7

  • @DaveWBedford And her voice was still amazing...

  • Only over 116,000 views!?

  • such a good song. My mum showed it to me yesterday, now it is officially my favourite song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Always someone spinning in rollerskates..

  • This song is still famous in Manila.... Go to an 80's bar (for some reason, only in high end hangouts) and the place explodes when they play it. It was amazing; witnessed it myself.

  • Glee has nothing on Fame. Glee is just filled with bad cover versions and singers with auto tuned voices.

  • I dont think Leroys got a great voice though. He's got a great haircut though.

  • @PauleyBoy200

That's not Leroy - that's Bruno. Right about the haircut though...

  • Go Leroy!

  • CAMP AS F@@@ - LOVE IT........

  • God, I dont get why and I hate to admit it...but I listen to Iron Maiden, Metallica, Wumpscut, VNV Nation etc, but I still find this tune very catchy!

  • Many years ago I saw a group sing this song at the state Beta convention. They had won their district. I've been looking to find the song again. Their lead singer sang some extra his.

  • soon be 30 years old. god time flys and waits for no one

  • Who cares everyone has issues, This song is the shit and this show was the reason I became a Professional Stage Actor, I made it and Im gonna Live Forever!!! Fame Rocks.

  • I was nine was this came out, I played the 7 inch non-stop, lol.

  • Halcyon days! I remember my sister and her mates in her bedroom singing into hair brushes and the end of a recorder to this. Good times.

  • at 0m11s, Piter de Vries knows well that it is through the juice of Sappu that arpeggios acquire SPEED.

  • @lulutvmad you serious?

  • @phatcockproductions yeah our school once arent they work radio - somthing

  • ist das von den 20 hahahhhihihihi

  • You can shove your Glee up your arse, this is where it's at !! :)

  • @MrDenizen

    Brilliant track. Brilliant vocal.

  • On a more serious note, this is a really good pop song. I remember being 9 or 10, and really being affected by all the harmonies - pedal tones, inversions, suspensions etc. I had no idea about the theory of course, but I loved it, and I started learning music to try to find out what it was that kept tweaking my emotions at different points throughout the song. Great Stuff!

  • @mallardvasey your bang on the money its a adictive sound might be daft silly pop stuff but it hook me , sadly i could not play a note , but i know a good tune when i here it , play this when i dj still fills the floor with the right crowd

  • Nice song!

  • I hated this song and the video is even worse, having said that I did use to enjoy watching Fame the series and still to this day love the Starmaker song.

  • took me back 25 years; thank you x

  • Just watch the rollerskater...he's hilarious in this video

  • I just love the enthusiam Valerie Landsbeg show in this video clip. Great song too.

  • LMFAO!!!!

  • i love this song!!!

  • I love this song!!!! Thanks!!!!

  • Valerie Landsberg tried so hard to act kooky and innocent - but she just can't help being sexy all the same!

  • I am now convinced that there is nothing I CAN'T find on YouTube. Couldn't get this song out of my head not even 10 minutes ago, and out of curiosity, I checked to see if I could find it here. Lo and behold...the good ol' 80s.

  • @akilahbee I totally agree. I'm watching Fame on cable relving my tween years and suprised that I found this and other songs on youtube

  • This Is Not A Machine

It Is The Kid From Fame Singing

  • Love this vid, not cheesy at all, I think its just shows how they inspired people (I have a famouse career dancing that they helped me acheive), fame rocks!

  • Just awful and corney and cheesy, so, so cheesy!!!

  • not cheesy at all... wow almost forgot before High School Musical & Glee they did it all back in the 80's with the kids from Fame!!! always remember this song, it was like a breath of fresh air!

  • reminds me of simpler days....gets me teary eyed remembering such days...

  • The first ever record I ever bought !!!

  • @MrGarratt1 Forgot I put this in!!!

  • I love this...

  • Coco, I l still love you. Well, at least I still think about you when I masturbate.

  • that Bruno is a wizz kid on the synth, a natural........can't sing though

  • Comment removed

  • This isn't cheesy, this was what was great about the 80's;synth pop music, you could dance to.I miss those days, the 80s rocked!

  • Thank-you so much for uploading this. I was 8 during this time. It may be cheesy now. But we loved it. But hey at least it's not as cheesy as the HSM (cough Cheap Fame Rip Off cough) IMO I don't think the HSM kids has nearly as much talent as the Fame Kids were/still are.

  • How nice to see this clip.

    I remember this song well.

The Kids from Fame were huge.

It may sound 'cheesy' but what we get now as in High School Musical and the like is very cheesy, only people don't know it yet!

  • Valerie Landsburg reminds me now , of the girl from the kids show Tracy beaker. Anyone else think so?

  • Bruno is a big fat fucker now-----he looks just like Ron Jeremy does only without the tash - they could be brothers lol

I used to fookin love Fame - cant wait to see the film remake wats due out

  • This has got to be the best song from any episode of "Fame"...

  • How high was Valerie, the way she was bouncing around?

  • Bruno's insane 80s arpeggio at the start is great! He's so serious about his analogue synths!

  • Valerie Landsburg! God I had a massive crush on you! I was what in 82 ? 11!!! loved ya! Great song ! Still do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • reminds me of regis

  • The lead singer was off her face on cocaine, acid and vodka. She admitted it on Justin Lee Collins bring back fame documentary

  • yeah that was funny as fuck. She can't remember anything from 1982 because she was off her head! Lol (but very tragic of coarse......yet very funny!)

  • @fatsdom Ugggh, thanks again Justin Lee Collins, for worming your big west-country face into some more of my childhood memories.

I'd like to see "JLC" have his stupid lion's mane haircut and beard set on fire live on Saturday night telly. As he flails around the stage, they could use this track to drown out his desperate screams. ITV Commissioning Editors, ARE YOU LISTENING???

  • @fatsdom maybe so but not in this particiular vid, as anyone who has ever dropped acid will tell you, that level of coordination is impossible on acid

  • @fatsdom

Im high on cocaine, acid and vodka right now! What a coincidence. This song kicks ass - killer 2 stage key change into and out of the bridge.

  • @fatsdom

Thats why its called HI - fidelity....

  • @fatsdom Which goes under who cares. sit back and enjoy the music.

  • @fatsdom so what, she could still sing her ass off lol

  • I love this thnkyou, i LOVED fame!

  • Thank you, I feel a tear forming due to equal amounts of nostalgia and horror at how bad the singing was! For 3.03 mins I'm a kid again!

  • This was so good back in the day, used to love the show in Ireland in 1982,sorry Leroy is no longer with us, remember VHI doing a musical dedication to him.

  • I had the fame tape and played it to destructin on my sony walkman. Fantastic. Still remember all the words.

  • Although he probably suggested they bring a cheque-book next time, I expect he was grateful for the attention the sound was drawing to his store. ;-D

  • I bet the guy in the music store got pissed-off with the lot of 'em!

  • Brilliant! Great song and video. So cheesy, so 80s, yet so good. Happy memories of Saturday evening TV!

  • Is that black chap from Fame, Gene somebody, still alive? I heard that he had AIDS.

  • no he died about 4 years ago. he was hiv positive and ended up dieng from other complications and liver failer. it was very sad.

  • I'm sorry to hear that,he had so much promise, great dancer! Thanks for the info...

  • 38 now lol i love fame when i was younger now got them on dvd

  • loved fame was only 8years old when this was on tv, was the girls name doris?.

  • Hmm - somehow a better singer than during the mawkish audition under her mother's hawkish gaze (melding Alan Parker's film and TV series together)

  • I love this, it's like it was 2003 all over again

  • for me it was 1982 when it first showed here in the states. I was 18. what great memories

  • oh god this song it makes my ears bleed!!!

  • lol l agree 100%

  • I love this song it take me back to my teen years.

  • Sod High School Musical - this rocks!!! God Im old x

  • Brilliant song. I remember seeing 'Fame!' when it was first shown on British TV. I'm so old...

  • i remember this being on the radio when i worked in a builders yard. i'd had my dole money stopped and had to slave for 3 weeks.

  • Love it!

  • When I worked at a radio station in New Zealand in the mid-1990s one of myu fellow DJs & I found the 45pm vinyl version of this song & we absolutely thrashed it on air. The record version has a slightly different vocal arrangement & I prefer that version, although it was good to see this one again after such a long time.

  • wonder what they are all doin now and what they look like!didnt leeroy die?

  • very nice! naalala ko kabataan ko dito..

  • Don't you be ashamed for putting this up. There's plenty of us who really enjoy hearing this again!

  • please can someone help me find seasons 2-4 with english subtitles on DVD?

  • I was at boarding school when this was on in the 80's, we had to behave when we did out homework or we weren't allowed to watch this!!!!

  • So 80's... yet still some taste of 70's!

  • desdemona was the best song....

  • the audio is good! i can reminisce my highschool days.i feel young again.

  • Best song from Fame

  • Stevenarada was nice enough to post this but then dogs it in the description - Fame ( the original TV show ) is great - no shame here!!!! Enjoy it - I do!!!

  • one of my favorite Fame songs:) I don't care how cheesy it is. Sucks that this scene was cut from the DVD:(

  • It wasn't cut- it's on the episode.

  • not on what I bought when the first season dvd set came out several months back. Unless I got a mistake disc or something, but it's not on there.

  • Are you absolute sure? It should be included, as it's a scene of episode no. 6 "The Sell-Out". If you don't have that episode, then something is wrong.

  • lol i danced to this is my dancin show it was reli cheeeesy lol but i luved it

  • You may mock but this sure beats High School Musical.

  • lol yer this beats high school musical by far coz its the original but its way better than the silly american high school musical

  • Only song I've ever remembered from Fame!!

  • I love Doris, what a great song and video! I love FAME!

  • always one of my favourites, don't care what anyone says and doris was such a good singer. quality.

  • The arrangement is brilliant in this, I don't know why people are knoccking this song here. This is twenty times better than the theme from Fame song which did far better at the time.

  • High Fideliteeeeeeeeeee....shouldn't NBC sue the author of that racey book?

  • this is even worse than the beatles, and that is saying something!

  • Thanks for sharing this, that is so cheesy its good. Its so true what you said in your video description - these random people know the song already and can play all the perfect notes... well thats tv for you :)

  • Back in the days I never felt really comfortable for liking this song. But I was 12 years old back then! It was made for me, so I console myself that it wasn't my fault!

  • love it
