There is about an inch and a half to spare right now, but depending on your motherboards positioning, the side facing HDD bay can be removed, adding 6 more inches. As far as temp goes, I cant really say because I have sufficient cooling and because the 4800 series run really hot anyway, and are designed to do so. (55-70C idleing)
Performance is pretty good, but if you have vista, don't install service pack 1. The ati drivers dont get along with it too well. Im going to get a 4870 x2 soon, that way i dont have to deal with as many driver issues.

i also have an apollo case, and i was just wondering how your gfx cards fit, was it tight? and what about temps?
