I thought the womens bar did not have the knurling in the center. Or are they using a standard 20 kg bar w/2.5 kg stoppers? Weight seems to make more sense that way; when the announcer said 80 kgs and the bar only had a red and just a little change, looked less than 7.5 kg of change on each side.
@ksam4000 yea i am so jealous of some woman that looks like a guy. that makes sense. these are not even women they are more like men.. who bulks up and tries to be like a man and build their testosterone up when they are a women? this is disgusting. yea some women is going to kick my ass because she can lift weights, that makes a lot of sense hahaha good god, what is your IQ like 75? maybe 80?
@kappkids You are a deuche bag. These women are not body builders who abuse steroids. They are Olympic Weightlifters who go through strict testing. Not one of those women is "bulky". Your ignorant comments show that your IQ is in the 75-80 range. Pull your head out of your ass.
@chiconspiracy you are actually wrong, because men have different hormones than a women, men are made to be the ones lifting weights, made to be strong, we have evolved that way. so yes lifting like a man would be correct. and yes it is good for a woman to be strong and it is healthy.. but this much is to much and it is disgusting. so there you go.
Men are not "made" to be strong. Men respond to any athletic training better than women due to increased hormones, but that doesn't mean women DO NOT RESPOND WELL TO IT. There is no "lifting like a man", there is simply lifting properly, and wasting time with light weak weights. How is this lifting too much? These women are much less likely to be injured, and will be far healthier than the average woman you prefer.
You're acting like women are completely different creatures, and weight training is bad for them. You have yet to demostrate, beyond a stupid cultural preference, a VALID reason why women should not lift weights, but men should. "Because I think it makes them look bad" doesn't mean shit. Some guys prefer anoerexia with the same line of logic you are using.
It's not the same thing. Weightlifters train to lift more in the snatch and clean and jerk, which requires speed and flexibility. Bodybuilders basically just work each muscle until it's massive and their competitions are based on appearance. The fact that the weightlifters look big and muscly is just a side effect of the lifting - it's not their aim to be muscly.
@kappkids lol what ? Women don't have to be big to be strong. I take it you don't know the difference between strength training and body building. Look a Melanie Roach. She competed in the Olympics and she doesn't weigh more than 54kgs.
These women amaze me. They don't look bulky at all, yet are incredibly strong. Amazing! Most of them could be Cosmo models in my opinion. Pretty and STRONG. Wow!

How are they like a man? Any woman who simply trained could do this. If you think being healthy is disgusting, then go find some twig thin women.

@chiconspiracy lifting weights like men does not make someone healthy.. a woman can still be a woman and be healthy..
kappkids 1 year ago
@kappkids
Being strong is UNIVERSALLY healthy. There is no "lifting like men". That's as stupid as saying "running like a man" or "swimming like a man.
