One of my earliest memories in life is seeing the map room scene from this film. Since then, I've always had an interest in and a reverence for antiquity.
Those who have the ark will be invincible?! Read 1st Samuel chapter 4. The Israelites brought it into battle as a good-luck charm... but Jehovah didn't approve. They lost the battle & the ark was captured.
This was a such a successful film not just because of the adventure, but because Spielberg really captured the ambiance of the FILM NOIR era of movie making of the 1940's & 1950's. I appreciate this more as I've gotten older...really reminds me of the best of the Bogart films of the 40's.
Indiana Jones and Star Wars was what i lived off of when i was a kid.

i prefered the other trailer, but this one tells the story better. the other one you like don't know what's actually going on much.
