  • I met John Newland many years ago and mentioned how much I loved One Step Beyond and he talked about it and I remember he said, at the end, that all the stories presented on the show were true. He said it defiantly as if daring me to disagree, I understood he had come under fire many times before.

  • What a great experience! I'm sure he did come under fire on a regular basis. He was one of the many pioneers of early television.

  • Yes, I was thrilled to see him in person, he was incredibly tall, had a rather violent sunburn, looked painful, but he was very gracious. I felt bad he had to be so defensive, I could only imagine how many times he had has to defend his show.
