As I watch this my son is on his way to Afganistan. This past weekend I took his 6 year old daughter to a Veteran's Day Parade. She gave out American flags to kids on the parade route and told them how important it is to thank our soldiers for protecting us. It was amazing how much she understood. I have one brother in the air force, one in the army and my son in the army and can't ever thank our miltary and your families enough for your sacrifice. You are amazing.
@BANELEVEN Thank you for your emotive and kind comment. The truth is that, (and I think I speak for the vast majority of those who have served), it was a pleasure and a privilege to serve this fantastic country of ours in uniform. Yes, we had to make some sacrifices, but the things that are worth doing are worth a measure of sacrifice. I believe that I will never do anything more important than having served my country in uniform, and my only regret is that I can't continue doing it to this day!
@Katiebily1 Thank you for joining! In my time I have met some outstanding Coasties, and you won't regret your decision. The Coast Guard is an excellent branch of the Armed Forces, and your future will be 100% better for having served in its ranks. When the going gets tough during training, (and it will), remember that they're turning you into a better person and a better American, and that your life will improve dramatically once it's all said and done. I wish you the best of everything!!
Some how I don't think coast guard is in the military it's like the police station no one really cares as much as the army or something… does anyone feel that way too is it just me?
@alexquicksilver2009 Coast Guard members have participated in combat actions during every single war our country has been engaged in, and many have died as a result. Not a lot of people know that. Yes, the Coast Guard's mission is more focused on law enforcement and security, but during wartime they automatically become attached to the U.S. Navy and operate as such. They have a lot of tradition, and their military and naval training is top notch. I've met many of them, and I was impressed!
@xxa455xx No problem, trooper! I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and the USCG has earned its keep many times over serving our country, if you ask me....Thank you for watching!
@alexquicksilver2009 actually the coast guard is beacuse they have to track done drug dealers that are coming into our country by boat and its there job to protect out coasts and from the other countrys that is trying to invade our country thats why we have the coast guard its just that nothing doesnt happen much on the coasts

At 3:31, the "green plane" is the wonderful WWII plane, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. One of the top rated planes, I would say, just behind the P-51 Mustang. I would have loved to fly either of them.

Thank you to all of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen for their brave service. Their sacrifice is what allows us to be the free country that we are today. God bless our troops and God bless America!
i would just like to take the time to thank the men and women, past and present who served in the armed services for their services and sacrifices. i know i am grateful to all of you who fight for our freedom and protect us from our enemies of the U.S.A.
I guess we played a variation of this at All-Region.. I thought it was the Cassion Song (army?), Semper Paratus (coast guard?), Air Force Salute, Marine's Hymn, then lastly the Anchors Aweigh?
Any help would be appreciated, I'm trying to make a video from our All-Region concert and I want to get the images in the correct order...
I don't know that the songs have to be played in any predetermined order. This is the order that was chosen for this particular recording that I used. You're right about the names of the melodies, though. "The Caisson's Rolling Along" is the official Army song, "Anchor's Aweigh" is the official Navy song, "Into The Wild Blue Yonder" is the official Air Force song, "Semper Paratus" is the official Coast Guard song, and the Marines have their Hymn. Thanks for watching!!
No, thank you! I probably wouldn't have thought to put our recording up if I hadn't seen that there wasn't a copy like ours floating around. I started searching youtube for a copy when I first got my sheet music so I'd have something to go off of, but to no avail. Your copy is pretty close (and I like it the best), but it's not exactly the same. If you get a chance could you take a look at ours for me?
Wrong. Seniority among the services is not measured based on the order in which they're mentioned in the U.S. Constitution, and not all of them are mentioned there even. The Army was created on 14JUN1775, the navy came second a very short time later, and the Marines came along on 10NOV1775, as acomplement to the Continental Navy. The U.S. Army is the oldest armed service in the...CONT.
CONT...United States, and it is the bedrock upon which the Revolutionary War was fought and won. The Minutemen (militias) were proper to each one of the States, and they formed what eventually became the National Guard. Aprendete bien la historia, amigo... };-)
Thank you for watching! That happens to me almost every time I watch this video as well, lol. I love the 80's too, and you have some of my favorite videos there in your channel, my friend.
Thank you for this awesome video. I hope you don't mind that I saved it to my favorites. I send a most special Thank You to You and Your Comrades for your service to our great nation. I wish it were possible to thank each of you individually and shake your hand. Thank you is not enough. God Bless!
Well Rock, You did it again my Brother. After last night then after watching this video - this 'Ol Salt is a blubbering mess! But, tears of PURE PRIDE, JOY and HOPE.
HOOYAH! OO-RAH! HOOAH!
My God, the more times I listen and watch this; the more I feel drawn back to service. However, the Four Star in my home has expressly denied to grant favor in this regard. (LOL)
You are very welcome! I was glad to make this video and post it, as a testament to the bravery, sacrifice, and devotion of my brothers and sisters in uniform. Serving America as a Soldier was the honor of a lifetime for me, and this video is but a token of that sentiment. I thank you for watching, and for your love of our country!!
you should post this with lyrics, its sad no one knows the lyrics anymore. I was at a military choir thing at the AFA, and all the old people would sing ALL the songs, just not the branch they were from. No vid like this exsists yet- you should do it!
I will, once the election is done and over with. My channel will include much more military stuff, so stay tuned, my friend...Thanks for watching! };-)
Thank you! I appreciate your comment, but I would say that our military is by no means the main reason why ours is the best country in the world. Our military certainly helped, and its presence and actions helped set the foundations, though... };-)

When you see people in the audience stand up and sing along with you, you know that you're such a lucky person to be living here and now in the USA.
At least, it was that way for me. I teared up half way through The Caison Song from all the men and women saluting in the audience.

Thank you so very much for posting this salute. I had it on CD for a while but have worn it out and now cannot find it at my local music store.
To mypureimagination - my parents made my brother and I learn the words to all patriotic songs growing up-and not just the first verse either.
Only 2 people in the world have volunteered to die for me-one for my sins and the other for my freedom. GOD Bless the USA.

you should post this with lyrics, its sad no one knows the lyrics anymore. I was at a military choir thing at the AFA, and all the old people would sing ALL the songs, just not the branch they were from. No vid like this exsists yet- you should do it!

Thank you! I appreciate your comment, but I would say that our military is by no means the main reason why ours is the best country in the world. Our military certainly helped, and its presence and actions helped set the foundations, though... };-)
