Is the rFactor better than LFS? (live for speed)??? I have LFS and also Logitech g25 wheel and it is superb,both wheel and LFS.

LFS is way better, specially for people who don't have the PC's for rFactor. I also have a G25 and I have tried it in both games, and it's a very good wheel, the best at the moment to use with this games.

you can put straight cut gearboxes on em and theyll sound just like the real thing. this sounds nothing like an m3 gtr, its like they made a last second straight cut gearbox and then confused it with the engine.

How does that even matter? As long as its not knocking, missing, or smoking, the sound is negligible, I'd settle for the hamster nom song if it just did the job of telling me the engine is working fine.

At the moment, no other sim is even close to reproducing the track in that level of detail, and I'm not talking purely about the graphics.

Many of the fine details that the commercial Developers seem to miss are in there (e.g. The Different Track layouts for winter, tourist etc).

Yes, the ai isn't fantastic, but it's rfactor.

Remember, the motto isn't customise, control, ai. It's customise, control, connect (online play/community being the key).

Actually, GT4 did a near perfect rendition of the Nurburgring. The only thing it lacked were changing weather and night racing. But the perfection of the track itself was uncanny.

Are you kidding? Forza AI? The only time I ever played Forza was when I hired an xbox 360, first time ever playing the game, and first time using a controller instead of a wheel.

All driving aids were off, AI difficulty was set to medium and I was beating them all, in the slower car, by at LEAST 1 minutes in a 10 lap race. Rfactor AI beats the living hell out of Forza AI, even on its lowest setting.

No, they wont give way to pass, unless you set the AI aggression level down.

Great lap, have the same mod and track i have 8.55 mins as fastes lap. As for the sounds i see people complain about it, well let me say this, i didnt came across one single mod yet from who i could say that are realistic sounds a few come near though. It seems its pretty though to make it similair i guess.

While I'm a WAY "over 30yo [grand]dadd[y] for whom training is too late," this is an excellent vid for Rfactor GTR... I'd like to see the same run in high res, with a TrackIR. If I ever get good enough, I'll post one.

For a comparison, get a copy of "In-Car 956," with Derek Bell running the Nordschliefe in - what else? - a Porsche 956, the last time a front-line WSC car ran the North Circuit. The fidelity of Rfactor's track to the real thing is amazing.!

I've got In-Car 956! My favorite track is probably Le Mans. GT4 and Rfactor have incredible reproductions of the 'Ring-and incredible graphics in general. Wow!

Here's a good way to prove GT4 sucks as far as driving goes. Take someone who plays GTR2, rFactor, or even better GT Legends, because GT Legends drivers have the most skill to drive those cars, and take a die-hard Gran Turismo driver. Then switcht their games. The PC driver will be as fast as the GT4 driver right away, and the GT4 driver will get fed up and pissed off because he can't drive the PC game. Try it sometime.

I've played both games avidly, and I have to say that GT4 is better for people who want a "simulation" experience with the bounceback benefits of arcade.. Sure GT has its great moments, but RFactor is a formidable simulation in itself..

I enjoy using the clutch and the physics of RFactor are just amazing. If you crash, your car will suffer as well, and in the right places.

Hard to make out any meaning in your post. GTR2 has an older physics engine than rFactor. Graphics I dont really care about, it's all about the physics. GTR2 is way too easy to be a simulator, real life hi-perf cars are never that easy to drive at high speeds (at least I would think they're not).

Force in rFactor can be tuned, like every other aspect of the game.

rFactor itself is older, but this has nothing to do with the physics engine. rFactor is being developed all the time, GTR2 is not. GTR2 developers chose to use the older rFactor engine, gMotor, while rFactor uses gMotor2.

its not the shift speed is the power the car has...it seems like a formula 1, with 1000hp and glued to the track

The default field of view as we see in this video, is really wide. This creates the sensation of speed. Narrower it gets, more "slower" everything seems, and more harder it is, but you can tackle corners better.

FOV should always be reduced. Usually people dont.
