  • why dont people in japan evacuate when the storm is coming are there buildings better then the usa ?

  • lol alien's UFO flight was cancelled bcuz of bad weather on earth

  • lol, a cow flying

  • So you live in Japan and get excited in Typhoon season or you come over here whenever there is one? Either way it seems a bit of a weird hobby :o

  • @Pilkingtube it's called a profession - what's so "weird" about it?

  • @TyphoonHunter its a 'profession' to watch bad weather? 0_o

  • @Pilkingtube It's called being a freelance photographer, sitemail me if you're still confused.

  • @TyphoonHunter thats so nice for a job, i love bad weather xD how do we become a freelance photographer

  • @TyphoonHunter Why would he even ask this question? It's comparable to a tornado chaser. :3

  • It's the same as a hurricane - but in the Western Pacific they're called typhoons. Their names are assigned using the different languages of the East Asian countries that are frequently affected by them. This typhoon happened to have the Japanese name Usagi - which means rabbit. Rabbit kind of has special cultural meaning in Japan. Not super special, but the feeling of the word usagi isn't necessarily as cute and fluffy as rabbit sounds to Splazz from comment below..

  • a typhoon is a storm that happens in the sea and comes near the land it happens in japan

  • Typhoon Usagi - typhoon rabbit?!

  • Yep

  • lea gultiano lea gultiano pangit...!!

  • Japan, so beautiful.

  • James.

Do you live in the states? I hope to get back to the NWP and chase typhoons myself, I hope that I can move back to Guam in a few years. I was there in 1991-92 and got 8 typhoons out there, 6 in Guam and a couple in Okinawa. Guam is a good base for chasing out there. The atlantic basin has been good for the past few years but that will end eventually but the NWP is always good.

  • Which prefecture is this?

  • It was the town of Nobeoka in Miyazaki Prefecture.

  • great video

  • KatDaddy from Storm2K:

Hey TyphoonHunter that was awesome! Great job my friend.

  • Bet you wished you caught this storm in Okinawa.

  • sorry I was thinking this was Man Yi

  • EXCELLENT footage James!!! Japan has really been hammered these last few weeks. Were you shooting in HD?

  • Oh I wish I was filming in HD, not quite in financial position to upgrade to that just yet. Glad you liked the film.

  • Thanks Volvi1. I should add that I screwed up the date at the beginning. It should be 2007!!! That's what happens when you edit video dog tired at 2am...

  • Some stunning footage there... I like it!
