Depends on your skills, I found the electronics to be the easiest, and the mech the hardest, but everybody is different.
I used commercial software (Vcarve) for this, makes life very easy.

Super cool. From what I hear, the mechanics part is easy, you just need money to buy good motors and stuff.. And then, the electronics is harder. By the way, have you done the software yourself? Or is it just a program bought or freeware? I am interested in doing something like this myself ( PCB router )
