Thanks for the video! ! I have the Monogram 1/8 scale model of this car. Even though its already molded brown, I'm painting it the factory Heritage Brown Metallic.
awsome cars, to bad its only got like 185 hp, 79 auto means that would be a 403, good durable motor though, i had a 79 with that motor and never let me down once.dog off the line though with those 2.73 gears
Let Me Tell you Simple Example Between the 2 Birds. The left Facing bird is 47X55 which extends the wings close to end of the hood. The Right facing bird has a shorter wings only at 44.5
I did make alittle mistake. Here's a correction. the right facing hood bird 70-77. The 77 S/E was the first car to have the left facing bird. Then in 78 the rest of the T/A's also had the left facing brd. Started in 78 not 79. Then the 80-81 turbo went back to the right facing bird for the flame to rise up the hood buldge.
Well 1970 to 1976 the head on hoodbird faced to the right(driver's side). Then in 77 GM changed the head and faced the left( passengerside) It stayed that way all of the way from 77-81. But, the turbo trans am 80-81, GM had the head turned back to the right on the turbo cars. They were the only model since 76 with the right facing bird. They changed it so the flame would extend up onto the hood bulge. The rest of the T/A's 77-81 were all faced left.
Oh yeah. I have tons of trans am knowledge. Like the changes pontiac made to the head on the hoodbird, which is year and in one case model specific. Not alot of people know about that. If anyone wants to know about that, just ask.
That car is 110% incredible!!! Great vid! Just a quick question,There is a guy on my block selling a GMC Sprint in good condition that I want to get ahold of for $5,000, first time I ever saw one, are they rare? or just a knockoff of the Ford Ranchero and Chevy El Camino? just asking since you know alot about rare cars. Thanks.
When you take this one out for a drive, be sure to wear your cowboy hat! You'll be a dead ringer for Burt! Just kidding, beautiful car. Looks like it was locked away in a time capsule.
Gorgeous car! Love Heritage Brown. I've got two Heritage Brown '79s both t-tops. One auto, one four speed.

True on all accounts. We are pumping one up for one of our customers now. Aluminum heads, cam, intake, carb., and headers. Should wake it up a bit!
This car was way too original to mess with And really drove beautifully...

@hellocountryboy Those are the original seats. If your interior looks different you likely have the deluxe hobnail cloth interior.

incorect, 77-78 had the same bird as the earlier cars, the 79 revision used the left facing redesigned bird
