I am a former Judoka and a current Sambo student ... the funny thing about this is that Judo has as much guard positions as BJJ. All of the chokes, sweeps, arm bars, triangles, etc that BJJ has came from Judo, thus Judo has them all. The difference is that in Judo you're not allowed to pull guard, a Judoka will use the guard as the LAST resort to defend or attack. I see the point of this video but lets not forget that Judo has as much guard as BJJ, minus the whole pull guard thing.

I am slightly confused, If you got a successful takedown, or your opponent jumped guard... why wouldnt you take top position and either submit him or ground and pound? Telling them to get up, is that a way of saying your a striker because there are very few fights that end in a takedown alone...
Judo will take the fight to the ground, but standing back up will take away that advantage wont it? Why take the fight to the ground if you do not intend to finish it there?

google "M. Tripp Judo history". read Kimura sensei's bio "My Judo" and google "George Mehdi" who left Brasil to study with Kimura sensei and now teaches in Brasil.

Well, you should then also read a little more on the history of BJJ (just stay away from the "primary" sources like the Gracies, find reliable ones :-) )... By the way, I am a Judo black belt from sensei George Kastriot Mehdi, he would agree whole hearted with you :-) On my part saying that BJJ is just Judo is the same as saying all striking arts are equal, just with different emphasis and tactics! (just to play safe, I do both! )
He does have a point. I grapple, and I think pulling guard is not the best way to fight. But Gracie did it successfully agaisnt Keith Hackney in UFC 3!

That bjj belt was given to me 8 years ago because I was smashing everyone at the bjj gym I went to and it made them look stupid for me to wear a whitebelt..I never studied bjj.
That said I am a Yodan, which is a forth degree, but it isnt blue...look it up.
