People pay more for handcrafted things because of some kind psychological/nostalgic impulse. The handcrafted item may not be any better in terms of durability and overall quality, but people think that it means something. This same kind of thinking propels the bottled water industry. All tap water comes from some natural source. But if you simply mention the name of the body of water and not the pipes carrying the water to the plant, people think it's somehow better their own hometown tap water.
Being a painter who works both digitally and with paint (acrylic, oil, guache- and yes there is a difference in the application and results from each of these) I find an argument in the validity of either to be moot. Each is a tool or technique for guiding the vision of the artist. You will find the artist who chooses to work digitally often has a reason. Artists will also go between the two in a single piece. Perhaps like the difference between film and video for you. Love your work, btw. :)
Peter's example of machine vs. handcrafted was bull.. The computer is a tool for creation. By saying that you don't admire the technique you might just as well say that editing digitally is less of an art form than editing the old way.. Sorry but Sean kicks your ass in that argument. I did however agree with Peter on the script being the most important part of a movie. You kicked Sean's ass there.. I like your vids, just subscribed. Wish you talked louder and more distinctly though ;)
I've browsed quickly through newer clips.. And yeah, they're a lot better :) I'm gathering as much info as I can these days so I'll be watching all of your clips, probably more often than once. Keep up the good work! Much appreciated!
than you should make a video, showing us how to make one, and tell us all the proper equipment we need to make one. because i've been searching around but i couldnt find one. all i can find is the little soft box for the flash.
guys like your the content of your video but please please forget the anguished college student dialogue, its just painful to watch try and get to the most pertinent points- because after all your communicators not B movie actors - sorry to be direct but it has to be said ....
i just started to make videos
