you saw him in cleveland...was it at the ole mattress factory...we used to go there when i was at delta state...but back on topic, i saw keith during rebel week at ole miss in 82,,,gr8 show by a fantastic entertainer
Will never forget Keith Sykes on New Year's Eve in Cleveland, Mississippi either 1980 or 81. I know he was there but I didn't see any of the show. I sold $1700 worth of $1 draft beer in four hours.
i saw keith sykes & the revolving band at the orpheum theater in the early eighties. i was only 11 or 12. my mom dropped my 14 year old sister & i off at the orpheum & picked us up after the show. parents can't do that anymore!
Get John Amos' new album - Keith is on it - Great CD!!!
"Bending the light" John Amos
Amos' style is uniquely fresh and creative.
His original scores and provocative lyrics have won him praise and accompaniment on "Bending the Light" from such noteworthy players as Keith Sykes, LLoyd Maines, Mark Andes, Kevin Welch, and Jed & Kelley
Awesome, I grew up on Keith's music(Thanks Rock 103)!!! B-I-G-T-I-M-E, Makin' it before they got Married, In between lines, etc... Keith freakin' rocks!!!
Great video. I had Keith at my house this past April in Hagerstown MD for two house concerts back to back Friday and Saturday, and he absolutely captivated my 75 guests each night with his wit, humor, personality, and, oh yes, his wonderful songs and pickin'. He may deny it, but he has not lost a step! You must attend his Music Festival in Memphis on Sept. 5 and 6.
Not much so far on youtube, but you can buy his CD in stores. All are good. His also writes with John Prine. So if you like the newer John Prine, You got gold was written by Keith Skyes and John Prine. Keith Sykes has a website too.
saw him last night at the italian festival in memphis....good show......sounds just the same as he did 25 years ago at flannigans and the misic hall--his face has aged but the voice has not
Keith shares his NYC experience in the NYTimes Metro Diary today... cool:

Jerry Jeff Walker may have been a "one-hit son of a bitch", but he recorded great songs by a lot of other people, including this song by Keith Sykes.
