Don't get upset but it is not good to have your cockatiel get used to shiny reflective surfaces or mirrors...they sing because they think their partner is in there. Many birds get really obsessed with it and that is just sad. The best thing is to get a real partner for them.

@ricturtle Oh no! Once lily went outside and perched in a tree. It took forever but I climbed the tree, it was really high. As soon as she saw me she flew on my head. ^^ I think I spent five hours outside that day...I'm so sorry for your loss, try puting posters in pet shops, I've seen some up before. Lily is about 2 years old?

@Vilkas321 he died of old age but he lived 10 years he was a parakeet im guessing how he died was he started getting weaker over night and fell and he died i took it pretty herd so i was depresed until i got a new bird

@Kingpizza96 It should be next to the battery of the camera. You could take it out and put it in a slot in your computer and copy the files. That's what I do anyway. You could buy a cable to copy and save them on your computer as well.

Well, you can safely say that lily is a male cockatiel. (^_~ ) And next to that, does it matter? I called my little cockatiel "Jacky" instead a really male or female name, just to be on the safe side. hehe.

I also believe that he makes "kissing" sounds at the end of the vid, am i right? (^_^ )

My little Jacky likes to talk (saying stuff like "hai" and "Peekaboo") and whistle whenever i sing or whistle a tune. (^_^ ) They learn a lot just by hearing the same things over and over. (^_^ )

When birds try to repeat what you've said, they simply do it by imitating the sounds you make. Sure, purely phonetic. However, if you listen closely, you can hear what they say. Words like "Peekaboo" are easy to make out. (^_^ ) If you want to learn Lily some words, start simple and repeat it often. For instance, everytime you see him. They learn fast. (^_^ )

Hehehe, (s)he likes his(/her) mirror image. (^_^ ) My cockatiel Jacky does the same thing (Hissing and banging his head) when i rub a piece of paper on some clothing or a table. (^_^ ) I've uploaded a vid of it on my channel.

I believe that Lily is a he rather then a she. The males have bright colors and red cheeks (except for the gray/white ones, then you'll need a specialist to determine their gender). Next to that, its usually the males that "sing".

^-^ Thank you for the info, I did do reasearch on the subject but I think I rather joke about it then pay, what 50 bucks? To know for sure. I found out like a month or two ago that she (he) learned and copied the hissing from me brushing my hair next to her (his) cage every morning. ^-^

Wow...I think this is the only time I've ever seen a cockatiel hiss because it was happy. He's adorable. I always think the pink cheeks are so cute, I have a greyfaced, so mine has no color at all.
