If you all are into this type of music, I highly recommend Blakagir. really amazing stuff. Listen to the song Noc part 1. The song starts off kind of slow, but a 2:24 it really kicks in.
@MrMeddled maybe im not being clear. ALL people should be proud of the heritage. Im Mexican, and im oroud of that. but i hear alot of white ppl say "we dont have a culture' and stuff like that
im not white but this is some good fvkcing musik, what musik should be. white ppl should be proud of their pre-christian european heritage more, not their american identities
Fuck man that wongraven album has the EXACT same cover as Carpathian Forest's album, "Through Chasm Caves and Titan Woods". What's the deal with that? What is the significance of that picture anybody know??
Ambient Music ist not related to Black Metal. Only this compilation is it.
I recommand bands such as Atrium Carceri, Atomine Elektrine, desiderii marginis, Herbst9 and z'ev or more popular: Jean-Michael Jarre
surely this music, espescially the mystical songs, are close to Dark Music but consider There are more Dark Music than Black Metal. Black Metal is only the most evil. :) Ambient ist surely one of the most widespread music styles.
@Boskopist Ambient isn't much related to Black metal, no. Dark ambient is, however. Mostly likely because a lot of Black metal and Dark ambient tries to paint about the same atmosphere, merely with a different approach to it.
Thanks for the wonderful and informative compilation. There is a band called Uruk-Hai (or Uruk Hai) doing music inspired by Tolkien, too. Their releases include A Night in the Forest, The Battle, and War Poems.
hey man that's a great job you 've done for both the songs and the info, really thanks for uploading such a video, also keep synthesizing songs (intro and outro from your solo project where great)
so mortiis changed his sound after seeing "stargate"?? yeah it was a pretty good movie but come on man seriously?? was "the fifth element" also an influence?
21 year sentence Varg served 16 year for good behavior but was supoose to serve 20 but tried to escape puting an aditional 16 months on his sentence so varg was suppose to serve 21 years not 24
God fucking damn it... I bought the wrong cd, haha... I wanted to buy the cd with this track on it(seen on this video), apperantly I was confused by the coverart...
FUcking brilliant, I liked the music by your band by the way!! the way the artwork was synched with all the music was awesome, epsecially in summonings part.
Dark ambient also has influences from black metal. I've read of a lot of black metal artists doing work in dark ambient and neoclassical darkwave even.
Darkwave is hard to describe, but it definetely does not have anything to do with black metal. It branched off of Goth music in the 80s. Modern darkwave uses synthesizers more than anything else. One of the most famous darkwave bands is the Cruxshadows, they're a perfect example of darkwave. If you have any more questions, send me a message.
i searched a little, and found some samples. It's a darker form of synth pop (even though with little pop involved) thanks for the info anyway, ill check out the band.
How come on these "top ten" videos, people always say, "you forgot 'blank'"? Because the person who made this video obviously doesn't like whatever band you feel they should've put in here!
What website can I download grabesmond and mirkwood from? It says summonig website, but I went there and it just showed a bunch of websites for free music downloads.
if you typed "summonig" then thats why you got the wrong website. go to summoning's official website and click where its says mp3, its not that hard to find.
my guess is because so many musicians from black metal bands have also released ambient albums, and a lot a black metal has ambient music tied into it. its also just because a lot of people who like black metal also like ambient
@beatrispits Sry but i dont like black metal but i admire ambient music...I think that goes for quite a lot of people...Its a matter of taste in music...But i agree there are similarities in black metal and ambient music...But for me they dont go together so easily...
@GREGOHARD dont apologize for your musical preferences. I agree, people who listen to black metal may be drawn towards ambient music, not the other way around, just because black metal is a little bit harder for most people to digest
wow....the mortiis song, I couldn't find it anywhere else on YouTube, but I'm on YouTube mobile on my iPod so I don't know if the results will vary on a computer......it was amazing that I could even download it! but anyway, thanks for making this video! mortiis is now one of my favorite artists, I love his new stuff and his old stuff
i love this music! thanks for opening my eyes to this! i enjoy all music with a feel of....i dont know, medievalness? its very closely but not very closelly related to metal, which is what i love.
Didn't know that Mirkwoord tune was re-used in Arcenstone! I felt really bad that this specific melody wasn't released but I didn't know that they used it in Summoning. Lovely
Useless information? No way, it's exactly what I'm looking for! I really liked this medley, my favorite by far is Arcana, the most ethereal of all these projects, I guess. But that last song (Arcenstone) sent me shivers down my spine, wow, really beautiful... O_o
very good list I really appriciate it...even if I think Summoning black metal albums/darkwave are better... I was thinking of die verbannten kinder evas...arent they darkwave aswell? nice video though
oh and another coil album called the moons milk in four phases!very good.........or maybe current 93 albums if you like the lighter side of neo- folk/gothic/ambient stuff
