@williamg209 This was from 1939, the year before Bugs was really established. The version shown here is often referred to as a "Bugs Bunny prototype."
@williamg209 My only gripe with this one, as many will point out, is how the cartoon ends so quickly. The real ending was edited out, not for anything violent, but how in the last few seconds, the hunter snaps and acts just as goony as the "so-called Bugs." That was done the previous year, in "Daffy Duck and Egghead," and back then, they must have been worried about repeating a gag.
the last time I looked this applied to Media that was 10 years or older that includes Music TV and Video this is why it is hard to get a movie on DVD or Blue ray older then 10 years.. this is also why you only pay processing and Handling there is no money in Videos and music over 10 years old and if you are paying more then Five bucks for DVD or Blueray for something older then 20 years old you are getting hosed
Ben Hardaway's original version of "The Rabbit", unofficially known as the "Happy Rabbit" (Hardaway's caricature is featured on the newspaper page, along with his nickname), originally released in August 1939. After leaving the Schlesinger studio in January 1940, he helped create "Woody Woodpecker" [a similar "nutty" character] for Walter Lantz. "D.T." (2:27) stood for "delirium tremens", which is what one suffered after an extreme alcohol withdrawal....
what year is this from??

Original bugs! Wonderful! the voice reminds me of one of the Ewoks from the cartoon Ewoks episodes though.
