Well thats what pressing the signal button does, it turns the chime on/off but idk if it stays on after I pressed it, i'll have to go back there and see if it still works.
That's very amazing that you can turn the floor passing signal on and off on some New York elevators, just like some Asian elevators having the ability to cancel a selected floor by pressing the floor button twice.
Yes it is amazing, there is also another store I might film at that has a signal button also. The macys at walt whitman has a button labeled "non stop" , I think pressing it gives express rides.
So the signal button sounds just like the floor passing chime.

Maybe you can try those two buttons out, and hopefully you won't get in trouble.
