is backstreet the same as alley?

I looked it up in the dictionary and yes, they are the same. Alley or back alley is used more than "backstreet" though, wouldn't you say? Similarly, I did a comparison of results on google for 골목 and

골목길:

2,670,000 for 골목

728,000 for 골목길

Thus, I'd consider 골목 to hold the same feeling as "alley", and 골목길 to hold the same feeling as backstreet.
