  • A vocal wonder - one of the most beautiful voices there has ever been. Callas may have sung it with more feeling, but her voice was not more beautiful than Caballe's.

  • One of the greatest voices I have ever heard. She sends shivers up my spine, totaly awesomely beautiful.

  • Al primo incontro, ed egli alquanto in pena

    Chiamerà, chiamerà : “Piccina-mogliettina

olezzo di verbena” pero tu si me diras mi amor

  • FOR ME, ON THIS ARiA, NO ONE CAN TOUCH HER. SIMPLY THE BEST.

First time, I heard this "Une Belle Di Vedremo" I was listening to a CD collection of best arias in a public library in 1995.

By the 3rd note tears were streaming down my face.

I sobbed through to the end tho' I'd heard many other versions before.

I knew then why Montserrat got standing "O" 's for 5-10 minutes when she stepped on stage and before she sang even one note.

CD is titled ARIA A PASSION FOR OPERA.

  • Thank you for posting it! Madame Caballé is as outstanding, as always!

  • Que preciosa!

  • Oh yes, this one's famous! Very nice!

  • Brava !! bellisima interpretaziones

  • Hi everybody!

    ... beautiful, but spiritless...!!!

  • Caballé at her best, in one of her great roles of her early career. One of her favorites, since she also met her future husband (tenor Bernabé Martí) in early performances. Her interpretation is flawless, relying mostly on phrasing and insurpassable dynamics to bring life to Cio-Cio San at his point in the drama. She has gone from "quindici netti netti" in Act I to 18 in Act II. The aria is addressed to Suzuki, although it becomes a monologue of hope, tinged with foreboding. Brava!

  • Excellent

    beautiful images, song

    bravo

    Rachel

  • Even this role has been sung by very great dramatic voices. Caballe did it su subtle and soft that I can only praise her. Maybe lil' Cio Cio San should be a delicate female rather than a stentorian woman!

    Brava Caballé!

  • Is it just me or the previous commenter said this sounded at the same time mufled and pinched!? Oximoron? Hello? Great version in my opinion.

  • Incredible...wonderful...thanks for posting this!
