it all depends on how you feel. i like carving and i use my board for commuting so i bought a sector 9 superfish. thats a good board to start with, so is the sector 9 rasta n8v. but if you want a really amazing board you should lgo for a loaded board. they're the most amazing looking and they ride the smoothest.

44 inch would be your best bet, no longboard is cheap, try to find one durring the winter(if it snows where you are) thats when they are gonna be the cheapest. I am getting mine for around $150 im pickin it up this weekend I have been waiting for it for a long time.
