This happens often when zooming in on Small lights (Normally stars) with a mediocre lens, notice the halo around the star is exaggerated as the zoom gets closer? Same thing happens when our NVGs are out of focus, only reason its square here is the possibility of a more flat, plastic lens.

it's a bright star people! this is only a focus trick. you notice when it is zoomed out it is barely noticeable then zoomed in a little it gets HUGE! This trick is accomplished when you zoom in on the light source and intentionally keep it out of focus. It gets bigger and takes the shape of your aperture. As for the glowing colors that is just the refraction through the lenses.

I appreciate your physical explanation for this UFO video, but, the shape of an aperature is round not square??? The glowing colors are symmetrically located around the edge of the square with one large unusal light in the middle. I don't think the refractrion of light through a lense would create this pattern of outer lights around the perimeter of the square. Your analysis is important and needs to be considered, but, it may not explain everything in the video.

@johnny102marvin -----I picked up a rhomboid shape like that in an old Panasonic while taping a perfectly spherical object in the skies over the North Bay....it was obvious that it was a lens flare and totally separate from what I was shooting because such a lens flare moves rhythmically with the camera motion and in proportion to it...the object above dances and shakes independently in the viewfinder-----clearly whatever that thing was, it was NOT any kind of lens flare, end of report.

@dasUBootVII About one year ago, I was seating on the deck of a three story house in Payson, Utah looking over the Salt Lake Valley towards the mountains on the other side of West Mountain. I had a pair of binoculars and just by happen chance I happen to spot an irregular shape object that was all white, but it was irregular shaped, and it was

i think it's odd that the 'ufo' stays in the same spot over the trees, yet the camera keeps shaking in order to make it look like the thing is moving. you'd think that if it can really move, then it wouldnt be in the same spot every time the camera guy pans out to show it in relations to the landscape. but when the guy pans out, he can keep the video steady, but keeps having epilepsy when he zooms in. very suspicious...
